MANILA -- From simply sharing his input and ideas, Gerald Anderson grew to embrace a new task as a director in his show, "Sins of the Father."
The story takes Anderson's character, Samuel, into a fight where he is challenged to beat 100 men in order to go undercover and penetrate the conglomerate, where the scammers thrive.
With the help of the whole team and the moral support of his fellow directors, Anderson was able to choreograph the "1 vs 100" fight scene, which was done with no stunt double. According to the actor, it took them two full days to finish all the action sequences that he wanted and visualized.

"Matagal yun, it was two days and we had an extra day," he explained. "Hindi naman buong araw… Binuhos ko lahat. Grabe 'yung pagod ko the next day -- physically, emotionally -- but it was all worth it."
Anderson even supervised the post-production editing.
"Napanood ng nanay ko noong nage-edit ako," he said. "Nag-break down siya sa editing, which is understandable kasi mahirap para sa kaniya na makita 'yung anak niya na ganiyan."
While he has been in showbiz for 19 years, sitting in the director's chair opened a whole new world for Anderson. The experience increased his interest to do more work behind the scenes.
"Na-enjoy ko 'yung process. Na-enjoy ko 'yung feeling na creating something, putting together all these amazing actors sa mga eksena," said Anderson. "Right now, ginagamit ko itong opportunity na ito to learn."
"Sins of the Father" opens its second season in the next few weeks.
