After the series concluded, the cast of the Kapamilya drama Sins of the Father expressed fulfillment and gratitude for the meaningful roles they portrayed on the show, which tackled societal issues and injustices, particularly scams.

During the finale press conference, Gerald Anderson, Jessy Mendiola, Shaina Magdayao, JC De Vera, RK Bagatsing, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin reflected on the lessons and realizations they gained from bringing their characters to life.

“Ang dami kong natutunan and it has been a great journey and I’m just thankful,” Gerald said. “It was a great experience and marami akong natutunan.”

Gerald shared his appreciation for the project and the experience of taking on a dual role as actor and director.

“I won’t be able to do this if di ko nakuha yung blessing ng lahat ng tao, ng buong team behind and in front of the camera. For sure, after nitong show, may mga courses, and some things about directing. Sana in the future mabigyan pa ako ng pagkakataon,” he added.

He also teased about an upcoming project with a similar theme. “The next one is another show na super super na magkakaroon din siya ng social awareness and walang araw na hindi natin napapanood sa TV Patrol nangyayari. I can’t say it now but it’s another show. Early this year or even during the show nagstart na kami magdevelop and I’m excited for that and like I always said ang hinihingi ko po sa ABS-CBN na sana laging may social awareness at may matutunan yung tao sa projects.”

Jessy Mendiola, who marked her television comeback through the series, said she is proud of the work they accomplished.

“Itong role na ito, I’ve never done this before and umaatikabong action scenes ang sumalubong sa akin throughout the show and I’m really proud of what we did. Kung paano ko nabuo si Agnes Policarpio, of course with the help of the directors and creatives and I’m just thankful. It’s kind of bittersweet because everyone is saying goodbye to each other,” Jessy said.

Jessy also gave a nod to her co-star Gerald.

“I’m really proud of everyone and of course, si Gerald on his directorial debut. Ang galing talaga ni Ge bilang director, sa action scenes, alam niya sa editing and anong shots na kailangan niya. He has the vision and throughout hanggang editing alam niya na ilalagay niya kaya I’m very surprised and proud of you, Ge,” she said.

Shaina Magdayao, who played an attorney for the first time, said the role taught her about goodness and personal conviction.

“Complicated but very beautiful journey for me. Lahat naman ng roles na naibibigay sa amin, pinagtatrabahuhan naman namin iyon and it’s never easy pero kasama noong hirap are lessons you will be able to keep kahit tapos na yung show and the bond that we form behind the cameras is one of the most important takeaways sa mga proyekto na ginagawa ko,” she said.

In a social media post, Shaina added: “Dahil kay Atty. Leah, hindi ako titigil maniwalang there is always GOODness in each of our hearts and that the SINS of our ‘FATHERS, MOTHERS’ and the mistakes of our past should not define us as human beings. Bilang tao, bilang nanay, bilang babae. In the end, naniwala si Leah that #love and #grace will always prevail. Natutunan ko na it’s never too late to change… for good, for good. 🥹 Salamat, Leah, for being such a beautiful challenge.”

JC De Vera described his experience as both intense and memorable.

“Isa ito sa pinakamahirap na ginampanan ko. From Day 1, di ko nakita ang sarili ko as Jacob na nakangiti hanggang sa ending. I would say na it took a toll on me, slightly because palaging intense yung mga scene na ginagawa namin. Mahirap siya bitawan, si Jacob, he is full of frustrations, traumas and problems na binitbit throughout his life. So, yung pagdala ko ng character, bitbit ko talaga iyon sa eksena so nakita ng lahat iyong gaano kagalit si Jacob and gaano niya pinapahirapan yung characters kaya wala akong friend dito. Ayon yung hardest part doon,” JC said.

“I’m fulfilled and so happy the way it turned out. Palaging may wisdom every time we do a scene,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin emphasized how the story encouraged them to be more aware and discerning.

“Bukod sa mga lessons na natutunan ko from my co-actors and directors, it would be the story itself.

Meanwhile, RK Bagatsing took to social media to shared how fulfilling it was for him to take on the role of Johnny.

"It has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my life, from the very first day until now. Truly humbled to have been part of something that genuinely tried to shine a light and make a difference. Every lesson, every laugh, and every single moment we all built together. What a fun ride. Hindi ko makakalimutan ‘to. 🙌🏽," he said.

He went on: "I hope we all carry something beautiful from this. I hope we never stop helping, sharing, and caring for each other. I hope Sins of the Father keeps sending out ripples that shape a kinder, braver future. ✨."
