MANILA -- Loyal viewers of the top-rating primetime action drama "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo" will be introduced to a new set of characters as the series enters its third year on free television.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News at their shooting location in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, lead actor Coco Martin saids viewers will be surprised with the roster of new actors that will premiere anytime soon.
“Dream cast. 'Yung tamang combination, 'yung sa original cast, paano ninyo sila napagsama-sama,” he said.
Martin is still tight-lipped on who are the new faces who will grace the primetimne series. But he promisesd that this will be a different viewing experience for their loyal viewers.
“Gusto namin 'pag nanood ka, parang ibang show na 'yung pinapanood namin. Parang pilot pa lang, parang nagsisimula pa lang sila,” he said.
Last January 6, Martin and the team had their first taping day for the new year and although it was a tiring whole day of filming for them, it felt good knowing that they were able to shoot some exciting scenes that the viewers will surely love.
First taping namin nung January 6, ang bigat agad. Talagang bugbugan, parang hindi ako huminga. Pagdilat ko, walang pahinga. Talagang pagod. Pag-uwi ko kahapon, talagang bakit hirap na hirap ako, pagod na pagod kaming lahat pero sulit kasi alam naming maganda yung kinunan namin,” he said.
Teamwork is the key, according to Martin. “Iisa kayo ng hangarin na mapaganda 'yung show.”
Up to now, viewers are still shocked when some of the main characters in the show have been killed. Award-winning actress Irma Adlawan, who played the pivotal role of Olga, was the most recent casualty in the course of the story.
Kasi may mga papasok na bagong characters,” he said.
"FPJ’s Batang Quiapo" airs nightly on primetime after "TV Patrol."
