OPM singer-songwriter Maki departed for Singapore on Tuesday morning, June 9, for the international leg of his "Kolorcoaster" tour.
Following his successful back-to-back shows at the Araneta Coliseum, the breakout artist is set to perform for his fans in Singapore on June 13 and Indonesia on June 14.
The singer shared that this tour has been a long-held dream for his team.
“Super excited kasi me and the team, parang napag-uusapan namin ito way back pa. So ngayon matutuloy na siya," Maki said.
Despite the early flight, he expressed his eagerness to reunite with his supporters abroad, noting that even non-Filipino fans have shown immense dedication to his music.
Recalling a previous fan meet in Indonesia, Maki expressed his surprise at how the local audience connected with his lyrics despite the language barrier.
"Nagulat ako kasi kabisado nila 'yung songs ko word by word. Even though they don't speak the language, talaga kinabisado nila," he shared.
He added that he is excited to hear both the locals and the Filipinos overseas sing along during the live shows.
To prepare for the tour, Maki emphasized that he focused on his physical endurance to maintain the same energy level he brought to his massive Manila concerts.
"Pinaghandaan ko 'yung stamina ko sa stage. Gusto ko mas maibibigay ko dito 'yung full potential na kaya kong gawin," he explained.
He also teased surprises for each country, ranging from special outfits to specific concert teasers.
Maki revealed a quirky essential in his travel bag: "Mga squishy... bukod sa mga plushy ko at sa earphones ko, pinaka talagang necessity ko ngayon, 'yung mga stress ball."
He noted that these toys help him manage stress and mentioned he plans to go "squishy hunting" while in Singapore.
Before boarding, the artist offered a lighthearted message of gratitude to his supporters.
"Hindi ko alam bakit napunta kayo sa concert ko pero thank you so much. Kitakits tayo doon," Maki said, while also asking fans for food and thrift shop recommendations.
