While recognized as the king of Christmas in the Philippines, Jose Mari Chan will take concertgoers on a love journey with his major concert "Afterglow: Seasons of the Heart" on July 11 at the newly renovated Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Plenary Hall.
The concert will also feature Tawag ng Tanghalan Duets grand champions and the latest “Your Face Sounds Familiar” grand winners JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” standout Kolette Madelo, and Tawag ng Tanghalan champion Lyka Estrella. The younger artists will perform several special numbers alongside the legendary OPM singer-songwriter.

Since 1967, Chan has composed and recorded countless timeless ballads, including "Afterglow" (his first hit song), "Can We Just Stop and Talk a While," "A Love to Last a Lifetime," "Tell Me Your Name," "Please Be Careful with My Heart," "Constant Change," "Beautiful Girl," and many other songs that have become part of the soundtrack of Filipino life.
Chan, fondly known in the entertainment industry as Tito Joe or JMC, is regarded as the original “Mr. Songwriter.”
His music has transcended generations and continues to inspire today’s artists. As Ryan Cayabyab shared in an Instagram post: “Though he is more known today for his timeless Christmas hits, the magic of his many other love songs and that unmistakable JMC sound shaped an entire era of OPM.”
The theme of “Afterglow: Seasons of the Heart” focuses on music as a bridge between generations, songs that have stood the test of time and continue to hold new significance for each new listener.
