As the excitement grows for his upcoming EP launch this May, actor and singer Brent Manalo shared why he does not have much free time these days because he wants his Lover Boy fan con to be something very memorable for both himself and his loyal fans. The one-night only event is set to happen on May 22 at the SM North EDSA Sky Dome in Quezon City.

“Sobrang busy po ngayon. May mga pinaghahandaang projects tapos may concert din po ako, fan con sa Sky Dome. With the help of Star Music. Yung mga songs talaga, I’m very proud of them. Talagang Star Music really gave their all in producing those songs. Maraming marami talaga. Sobrang dami bago, kanta, sayaw, lahat,” he shared during the Nivea Brightest Spots caravan event held in Muntinlupa City last April 25.

Since emerging as a Kapamilya Big Winner in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition last year, Brent admitted that he sometimes still gets flustered when he hears people call out and cheer for him whenever he is out in public.

“Parang every time that it happens, parang it still feels like a dream eh. Parang, it’s something I would never get used to, but I have a grateful heart, always. Every time I go out, na kahit may isang tao lang na sumusuporta sa akin na makikita ko, grabe yung pasasalamat na nararamdaman ko. The first time it happened was when it was announced that we were the Big Winner. Pagbaba parang first time ko ulit makakita ng tao after four months so ganun kalala, ganung magnitude yung sigaw. Yun yung pinaka memorable sa akin na tilihan,” he recalled.

The 28-year-old artist said he will always choose to remain grounded and not let fame go to his head, despite his rising popularity in showbiz.

“Siguro (because of) all the rejections I went through just to get here. Parang it reminds me to really keep my feet on the ground and really remind myself that I went through so much just to get here so I don’t want to take it for granted,” he added.

As past of Nivea’s Circle of Trust this year, Brent explained why it is important for him to take good care of himself.

“Para sa akin kasi, it’s important in our industry lalo na to take care of yourself. Iba pag mabango ka, pag malinis ka, pag makinis ang mukha mo. Ibang confidence ang nabibigay. Kahit gaano kaganda yung suot mo, pag yung hygiene mo hindi okay, parang wala siyang dating para sa akin.

"Honestly, I only started really taking care of myself when I joined showbiz kasi before, for guys there’s a stigma na if you take care of yourself, it’s going to seem feminine. But now, more than ever, it’s really important that I take care of myself kasi nga the industry I joined, it’s all magnified. And it’s such a huge honor (to become a celebrity ambassador) kasi I grew up using the deo and the hand cream. And to be one of the ambassadors now, parang answered prayer ko talaga,” he admitted.
