INDIO, California — Two days before their second performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, BINI huddled again with their whole team, coaches and dancers to rehearse.
Fans, casuals and festival-goers can expect something new and fresh this Friday (US time).
“We want to switch it up for like a little bit, medyo mahirap din siya kasi kulang kami sa oras, a little bit. It’s obviously a risk pag may papalitan, but you know BINI is all about taking risks,” said Mikha.
Gwen added, “Of course meron, pero hindi pa po namin sasabihin kasi nga surprise. Pero yes po for sure pinaghandaan po kaming bago for this second week.”
Their debut performance last week was really one for the books and Jhoanna admitted that they really learned a lot.
“Happy, excited, super satisfied but at the same time, kinakabahan pa rin kami kasi siyempre, hindi naman namin hahayaan na maganda ‘yung weekend 1 namin, siyempre gusto namin mas bongga ‘yung weekend 2. Plus nalulungkot kasi parang sobrang saya ng experience na ito for BINI, mami-miss namin ‘yung Airbnb namin.”
ABS-CBN News caught a glimpse of a fresh track that they will be performing this Friday (US time). It took them a long time to master some routines, blockings and choreography.
“It took us 8 attempts, around 4:18 p.m. to be specific at Studio 8, so 8 is our lucky number talaga. Just like last time po, kailangan namin maging smooth, maging perfect ‘yung mga changes. Siyempre we want to end it with a bang,” said Aiah, who also shared a touching message she received from a fan.
“Sobrang na-touch ako. I was going through my messages and may nakita akong message na isang fan na sabi niya nabu-bully siya before kasi binu-bully siya kasi half-Filipino siya, may Filipino blood. He would come home, kasi ‘yun nga ayaw niya sa school.”
“Tapos nung nag-perform daw kami na-feel niya na parang lahat ng pangbu-bully sa kanya parang this is it, being a Filipino, I am validated. This is also our purpose, our mission, kung bakit nagpeperform kami and why we still keep going,” she said.
The girls have nothing but gratitude in their hearts for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step on the Coachella stage. As coach Mickey Perz would frame it, their ‘love tank’ is full especially from their loyal fans who rallied with and behind them, from day one to this historic milestone in their career.
Stacey said, “Thank you so much Blooms, sa walang sawang pagsuporta sa BINI. Para kaming sasabak sa Miss Universe o sa boxing. Maraming salamat sa effort talaga, ‘yung mga taga-Bloom Villa, mga bumiyahe, ‘yung talagang gumising ng 7 a.m. just to watch us BINI, thank you so much.
Colet added, “Parang ‘yung Blooms talaga, mapa-Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, meron silang pa-watch parties, thank you so much Blooms. Watch out for our weekend 2 set.”
BINI is set to return for Coachella’s second weekend on April 18 at 7:15 a.m. (Philippine time), with fans able to watch the performance live on the festival’s official YouTube channel.
