Sunghoon of ENHYPEN took part in the torch relay for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, marking a milestone that connects his past as a figure skater with his present career as a K-pop star.
"It's finally Opening Ceremony Day, and I've been waiting for this since we arrived!" he said in a video posted on Instagram by the Olympics.
The global sporting event shared the clip of Sunghoon as a torchbearer and wrote: "We're literally mesmerized! 🤩 ENHYPEN’s SUNGHOON arrived in Milan and handled being a @MilanoCortina2026 torchbearer with his usual grace and charm."
Fans online were quick to react to the video.
"My heart feels so happy seeing this," one fan commented.

Participating in this year's Olympics is a dream come true for Sunghoon. Before becoming a K-pop idol, he was a figure skater.
"My first dream was to skate at an Olympics, but I have chosen to pursue my second dream as a pop idol. Even though I am in a different career now, I feel like I've realized my dream," he said in a press conference as reported by The Korea Times.
The ENHYPEN member remarked that he is honored to be part in promoting Korean sports in the Olympics.
"I've been able to come here because of what I did in the past (as a figure skater), and I've received so much help along the way. It's a huge honor to be able to come to an Olympic Games and help promote Korean sports. I was so happy to be able to join so many people in this journey that is the Olympics."
In a press release prior to the Winter Olympics, Sunghoon shared his admiration for the athletes competing in the global sporting event. "As I am fully aware of the passion and effort by the national representatives who have shed sweat for the Winter Olympics, I have great respect and support for them," he remarked.
The singer also reflected on his personal connection to the Olympics, recalling his early dreams as a competitive athlete. "I had dreamed of being part of the Olympics when I was skating, and I am thrilled to be able to fulfill that dream now as a singer," he remarked.
