Five of the Philippines’ most acclaimed vocal powerhouses will share one stage this February 14 for “Champions of the Heart,” which organizers call the biggest Valentine’s Day concert this year.
The one-night show at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport World Resorts is led by Concert King Martin Nievera.
“Puro Kapamilya kami. We will take what we learned in the last years and we will put it together,” Nievera said.
“All the shows on Valentine’s are worth watching. But what makes us different is we had so many years together learning how to blend together as a Kapamilya. We are not strangers to each other. We have already achieved that one challenge,” he added.
Nievera is joined by Sofronio Vasquez, Jed Madela, Jona, and Klarisse de Guzman.
“It is once in a lifetime to have a line-up like this. I have lots of shows, mostly solos. When I collaborate with other artists, I discover something new in me. Like when I duet with Klarisse, iba. Sofronio, iba. Iba-iba ang lalabas. For me, this is a dream collaboration,” Madela said.
“I am so grateful. It is a dream team, it is a dream concert. Full of inspiration, love joy, hope,” Jona added.
The one-night concert will feature classic love songs, standout solo performances, and special collaborations.
“The concert will be epic. Besides ni-loo-look up ko sila alam ko maging magaan lang show. Super excited ako,” de Guzman said.
Vasquez shared the “champions” have been collaborating together for the program.
“The first meeting we thought we had a good set, pero may mas maganda pa pala. We want more,” he teased.
“Kanina may changes ulit nangyari. I'm sure after this marami pa,” Jona added.
