Excitement is in the air as Kapamilya stars flew to the United Kingdom for the highly anticipated ASAP in England concert, happening on August 30 at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham.
This year’s show is extra special as it marks the 30th anniversary of ABS-CBN’s longest-running musical variety program.
Singer Eric Santos expressed excitement to reunite with Filipino fans overseas.
“Napakalaki ng inihanda namin ng mga production numbers for our kababayans there. Sing, dance, everything music, OPM lahat nandoon. Talagang pinagsama sa isang napakalaki at bigating show,” he shared.
For Robi Domingo, returning to the UK felt like a milestone.
“Can you imagine we were there like 10 years ago? And we’re gonna be back 10 years after. It feels exciting to see all our kapamilyas. We have prepared so much for you guys. I have seen the script, and the show will be super wild,” he teased.
On-screen sweethearts Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano couldn’t hide their joy.
“Sobra excited! Ang tagal natin hinintay ito,” Belle said, while Donny who revealed it was his first time in the UK added, “Every time we go abroad, it’s us bringing a taste of home to everyone there and that’s exactly what we wanna do. We’re just so excited to see them.”
The pair also shared that the trip doubles as a breather amid their ongoing projects. Belle even promised to tour Donny around the city during their free time.
OPM hitmaker Yeng Constantino admitted she extended her UK stay to watch West End musicals, calling it a “dream opportunity.”
Meanwhile, seasoned concert king Martin Nievera assured fans that the production numbers will be memorable.
“Songs that we chose are songs that we know they know and can sing along to. We’re expecting a very loud production number kasi kakanta din yung kapamilya sa Birmingham.”
First-time ASAP UK performers Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Ogie Alcasid are equally thrilled.
“Super excited kami ngayon lang kami magpupunta ng UK with ASAP. We haven’t done a show in the UK for more than 15 years,” Ogie revealed.
Regine added, “I’m very excited. First time namin to do a show with ASAP sa England.”
Unkabogable superstar Vice Ganda also promised a treat for fans, revealing she’ll reprise her “Super Divas” concert performance with Regine for the UK crowd.
“Ang tagal na nung last pumunta ako ng England kaya excited na ako bumalik doon. Vacation-ish na din to nagplano kami nila Darren manunuod ng musicals,” Vice said.
As the Kapamilya stars gear up for the grand ASAP in England celebration, they carry with them the spirit of Filipino music and artistry, promising a spectacular showcase for kababayans abroad.
