The PMPC Star Awards, Inc. is preparing to roll out the red carpet for the 37th Star Awards for Television, which will take place on Sunday, August 24, at the VS Hotel Convention Center on EDSA in Quezon City.
The awards ceremony, presented by the country's pioneering entertainment media organization, continues the legacy of celebrating excellence in Philippine television while highlighting the artistry, innovation, and glamour that define the business.
“We're all set for the 37th Star Awards for Television, and we are excited to celebrate the men and women, the TV shows, and the memorable moments of TV programming in 2023. In spite of the challenges we faced in mounting this event, we’re blessed to have pulled it through. As always, the Star Awards will not only honor excellence in television but also showcase glitz, glamour, and excitement,” said PMPC Star Awards, Inc. president Mell T. Navarro.
King of Talk Boy Abunda and Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, luminaries whose names alone convey credibility and charm, will headline the star-studded host lineup. They will be joined by Elijah Canlas, Gela Atayde, and Robi Domingo, who will combine seasoned knowledge with youthful energy to keep viewers engaged throughout the night.
The evening's program promises to dazzle with noteworthy performances, including a high-energy number by "Pinoy Big Brother" alumni Jarren Garcia and Kai Montinola with rising P-pop duo One Verse, which celebrates the vibrancy of today's Filipino youth.
Power couple Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, along with noted singer Christian Bautista, will perform a touching medley in honor of industry pillars Caridad Sanchez, Ariel Ureta, Geleen Eugenio, Malou Choa-Fagar, and Angelique Lazo, who will each receive the Lifetime Achievement award. This segment exemplifies PMPC's goal to honor those whose lasting contributions have influenced Philippine television.
Pop rock band InnerVoices will light up the stage with their signature sound, while Jed Madela will bring the evening to a thrilling finish with a grand finale performance.
Under the direction of Vivian Poblete Blancaflor and stage design by Rico Ancheta, the 37th Star Awards for Television promises a night of recognition, excitement, and heartfelt tributes — celebrating not just the industry’s past, but also its bright and promising future.
