Kapamilya actress Karina Bautista joined selected content creators in the grand launch of Gen V: Your Vibe, Your Move, a youth-driven movement promoting overall well-being and awareness about the human papillomavirus (HPV).

Held at Zero Studio, Greenfield Tower in Mandaluyong City last November 12, Kapamilya actress Karina alongside content craters Fonz, Killa Kush, Carl Scheidrich Ngan, MD and Aencille Santos emphasized the importance of taking care of one’s health and using their platforms to spread awareness.

“I’m honored to be part of this event, you know, to be able to talk about health in general, and also for me as someone who has lived independently for half of my life already since even before Pinoy Big Brother,” Karina told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

“To be able to help spread awareness and for people to be able to learn more how to take care of themselves, syempre is truly important to me, and it's a cause na I really want to help uplift, lalo na here in the Philippines,” she added.

Content creator Fonz said that beyond his popular skits, promoting well-being has become a meaningful part of his work.

“Apart from doing brands and skits, gusto ko rin to be a part of something meaningful, meaningful?” he quipped. “Sharing your platform and sharing information to the audience na makakatulong sa kanila along the way.”

“Nowadays, marami din talagang nag-doom scroll lang and feeling ko isa yung mga videos ko na parang madadaanan ng mga tao and nakakatuwa na possibly pag doom scroll nila sa isang video ko, I'm talking about or I'm sharing an experience about awareness sa HPV,” he added.

Killa Kush also shared how valuable it is to use her platform for wellness advocacy.

“I think being able to use my platform to help more people become more informed is such a blessing,” she stated. “Wellness is such a privilege that I also know that not everyone can have but if we’re able to prioritize wellness in little things like eating better, going for a run or doing anything you can that makes you better is already a great thing.”

She also noted that choosing the perfect wellness activity should not be a hindrance to taking care of one’s self. “Wellness doesn't have to be complicated. It’s finding the balance kung ano nagwowork sa iyo and ano ’yung kaya mong i-incorporate into your life. It doesn't have to be complicated and it helps to be informed,” she expressed.

Creators Dr. Carl Scheidrich Ngan and Aencille Santos also highlighted their roles in educating younger audiences.

“Kami as content creators, we have this responsibility towards our audience, especially the younger generation. We have Tiktok and it is populated mostly by GenZs and these are minors mostly, so it is important for us to spread this positive and informative information,” Aencille said.

Dr. Carl also noted, “As a doctor myself, it's very important to walk the talk. Advocacy ko is to inspire more women to be healthier by being healthier myself. Kasi syempre, if you’re healthier you also influence your friends to be healthy and that’s the best way ‘to talaga.”

OB-GYN Dr. Ivy Embuscado from Pacific Global Medical Center and San Mateo Medical Center noted how impactful it is to have public figures champion HPV awareness.

“HPV is the only preventable cancer in women and a lot of people don't know that it could also prevent cancer from men also,” Dr Ivy said. “I'm actually very excited that this is how we promote. It's really very inspiring for doctors to give our knowledge to this younger generation.”

In a press release, Dr. Maan Galang-Escalona, Country Medical Lead of MSD in the Philippines, emphasized the power of young people in shaping public understanding.

“You are the generation that uses your platform to spark change. When prevention goes viral, it saves lives,” she said.

“Your voices, your stories, and even the simplest posts you share can shift mindsets and correct misconceptions that have persisted for years. Prevention isn’t just a medical choice—it’s an act of empowerment, one that protects your future and the people you care about. By talking openly about HPV, learning the facts, and encouraging others to do the same, you become catalysts for a healthier, more informed generation,” she added.

Organized by MSD Philippines, Gen V: Your Vibe, Your Move aims to cultivate a generation that protects its health and empowers others to do the same.
