Teatro Kapamilya just announced the cast of its upcoming production, The Art of Breaking Up, on June 10. Joining the cast of the highly-anticipated stage play are Kapamilya stars Brent Manalo, Yen Santos, Jarren Garcia, Kolette Madelo, Analain Salvador, and Dingdong Bahan, among others.
Joining them are some familiar names in the world of theater as well–– Meanne Espinosa, Jude Hinuman, and Yesh Burce.
The stage play is set to make its run at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City from November to December of this year. It will be based on the playwright by the late George de Jesus III’s Kung Paano Maghiwalay and will be directed by Dudz Teraña.
According to Teatro Kapamilya, The Art of Breaking Up traces the “tender, messy, and other times funny unraveling of love.” It’s set to follow couples who will be undergoing several emotional points in their relationship–– slowly learning how to let go.
“Through fleeting moments and intertwined lives, it follows couples as they fall apart, cling on, and slowly learn to let go, revealing the complexity of human connection in all its warmth, confusion, and heartbreak,” Teatro Kapamilya shared.
Brent is set to play the role of Jake while Yen will be portraying Gab in the stage play. No other details of their characters have been shared as of writing.
Meanwhile, fans of the former Pinoy Big Brother housemates expressed in the comment section how excited they are to see them perform on stage. Other netizens shared that the cast is a mix of familiar names both from television and theater which makes their chemistry intriguing.
“Wow! From PBB big winner to actor to singer and now to theater actor Brenty! So love this for you Lover Boy! Congratulations,” a fan wrote.
“Congratulations @dingdongbahan . So proud of u. All God's Best Palagi. More blessings and projects pa,” another fan added.
