Kapamilya actress and dancer AC Bonifacio denied allegations that she used “connections” to get into the BTS pop-up event held in the country. On her official X (formerly Twitter) account, the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate explained what went down and why she decided to speak up.
South Korean boy group BTS had a pop-up event in the country earlier this month, featuring their latest album, Arirang. Filipino ARMYs had the chance to have an immersive experience at the pop-up store held inside a mall in Makati City.

On her X account, AC shut down the rumors, claiming that people had started calling her “disrespectful names” because of them. She clarified that she was hired to work at the event, contrary to rumors circulating on social media.
“I understand the frustration because of how loyal you guys are as ARMY. First off, I was hired for the event to work. I did not use any 'connections' to get a pass. I didn’t even know who the event was for until the night before,” she wrote.
As a breadwinner, the Kapamilya star maintained that she took on the job opportunity to pay the bills and asserted that she has been a fan of the South Korean boy group since 2017.
“I’ve been ARMY since 2017, and showing up for something that celebrates BTS and the community means a lot to me. Everyone supports in their own way—this is one of mine. Respect goes both ways,” she added.

She went on to clarify, as well, the issue of her being followed on social media by two members of BTS–– Jung Kook and j-hope. While she can tag them on her TikTok account because they follow each other, AC asserted that she is a fan of all BTS members.
“The tagging on my TikToks is becoming an issue for no reason. The boys specifically have settings set on their accounts that you cannot tag them unless they follow you. I thought this was common knowledge,” she cleared.
“Walang 'bias niya kasi,' 'papansin siya,' 'ARMY pero isa lang kilala' ??? lol pls. I may not have been there from the very beginning, but I made the effort to go back, learn their story, and understand everything that made BTS who they are today. Whether you’re a fan from 2014 or even 2026, we should all be celebrating that ARMY is growing,” she continued.
AC is hopeful that her statement will put an end to the rumors so people can focus their energies on supporting BTS.
“I don’t feel the need to prove myself as a fan. That’s why you don't see everything. I’ll just keep supporting OT7 the way I always have. Let’s not put each other down when we should be celebrating BTS and their comeback together,” she ended.
