BINI’s debut on Coachella’s global stage was not just a musical milestone but also a visual spectacle. Rooted deeply in Filipino identity, craftsmanship, and innovation, their outfits were made of sustainable materials and real gold leaf sheets.
The audience was captivated by the fashion narrative that unfolded within the high-energy 45-minute performance of the Nation’s Girl Group. Their carefully curated outfits became an extension of their storytelling, showcasing that they were not only representing Filipinos through music, but also through the artistry embedded in every detail of their looks.
One of the most talked-about moments of the show came during their seamless outfit transformation from “Shagidi” to “Zero Pressure.” BINI shifted from their striking gold warrior ensembles to flowing teal-blue siren outfits in just a blink, drawing loud cheers from the crowd and igniting buzz across social media.
For their opening look, the group embodied a powerful Filipina warrior identity. Designed by Marian Zara in collaboration with Job Dacon and styled by Ica Villanueva, the gold ensemble was rich in symbolism. Paired with salakot hats, the outfits instantly evoked a sense of pride, grounding their global performance in Filipino roots.

Behind the striking visuals was an equally compelling process. On Instagram, Marian shared glimpses of the intricate creation of the hand-sewn pieces, revealing how Filipino weaving traditions were integrated into the designs. Textures similar to the banig were incorporated, while each accent was meticulously stitched to reflect heritage and craftsmanship.
Sustainability also took center stage. Job revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that each outfit was constructed using 20 to 25 sheets of real gold leaf and around two pounds of recycled plastic per member.
“Ingenuity and [sustainability] finally meets the international stage!” he wrote.
The process itself was labor-intensive, involving melting down recycled materials, molding them into intricate shapes, and refining each detail by hand.

According to Job, the designs drew inspiration from traditional Filipino elements, including filigree patterns influenced by calado carvings commonly seen in heritage houses. Custom molds were even created from seashells, specifically modeled after scallops native to Bantayan Island.
Eagle-eyed fans later pointed out even more hidden details, noting that the golden warrior outfits featured delicate beadwork in Baybayin, adding another layer of cultural storytelling woven into the garments.

For their second look, BINI transformed into modern-day sirens of the sea. Designed by Raf Villas and still styled by Ica, the teal ensemble offered a softer yet equally commanding presence. These hand-crafted pieces incorporated weaving techniques, flowing tassels, and wave-like textures that emphasized movement and fluidity, embodying the spirit of the ocean while maintaining a contemporary edge.
Complementing both looks were gold and white accessories crafted by Arnel Papa, featuring pearls and shell-inspired designs that paid homage to the Philippines’ tropical landscape.

As the first all-Filipino act to take the Coachella stage, BINI’s appearance marked a significant moment for OPM and Filipino representation worldwide. Their performance quickly became a global talking point, with Blooms and international audiences alike praising both their artistry and cultural pride.
