Ahead of their historic Coachella 2026 performance, Sheena Catacutan of BINI took to social media to remember her late mother, Angelyn, whom she lovingly described as her number one supporter.

In an Instagram story posted on April 10, Sheena shared an emotional tribute, looking back on precious moments with her mother, whose unwavering support played a defining role in her journey to becoming part of the nation’s girl group. The post showed glimpses of their close bond, reflecting a love that deeply shaped Sheena’s dreams and determination.

“oh Lord I'm missing her so much,” Sheena began

Angelyn was more than just a supportive parent; she was a guiding force in Sheena’s early passion for performing. Affectionately calling her “bebe,” Angelyn encouraged her daughter’s artistic growth by enrolling her in singing and dancing workshops. This early support eventually led Sheena to join a local dance crew in her teenage years. It was also Angelyn who convinced her to audition for Star Hunt despite Sheena’s initial hesitation, a decision that would eventually lead to her breakthrough and eventual place in BINI.

But just as Sheena was closer to realizing their shared dreams, tragedy struck during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when Angelyn passed away and did not get the chance to see her daughter as part of BINI.

As Sheena stood on the brink of one of the biggest performances of her career at Coachella, she shared a series of deeply personal messages reflecting how much she wished her mother could witness the moment.

“I'm so sure na she would've [risked] everything just to fly here and watch her bebe perform live sa Coachella. I know na you're always watching from above, but it still hurts to not see you or even hear your voice to say your good lucks and I love you sa akin. mas masakit kasi this has always been our dream, together,” Sheena expressed.

“I hope I'm making you proud, Mommy. I pray to God that you have found peace and [rest] wherever you are right now, Mommy.”

“I love you, mommy ko, I'm doing all of this for you,” she said, concluding her tribute by asking her mother to continue watching over her.

Her emotional posts quickly drew waves of support from fans online, many praising her strength, honesty, and the deep love she continues to carry despite her loss.

Despite the personal weight she carried, Sheena stood with BINI on one of the world’s biggest stages and helped mark a historic moment for Filipino music as the group became the first-ever Filipino act to perform at Coachella. The group delivered a high-energy set on the Mojave Stage, performing 10 tracks including their biggest hits.

As BINI continues their global rise, their Coachella debut has sparked widespread attention from both fans and casual viewers, further cementing their growing international presence.

The group is set to return for another performance on April 18 (PHT), while also taking time to watch other Coachella acts, including Sabrina Carpenter, KATSEYE, Justin Bieber, PinkPantheress, and more.
