Mikael Daez shared his journey to recovery after experiencing a torn Achilles tendon.
On Instagram, the actor documented his rehabilitation journey, from initially struggling to walk to gradually regaining strength and mobility. The actor shared that he is now able to move better, allowing him to care for his son, Leon, and slowly return to more athletic movements.
After six months of recovery and physical therapy, he shared that he still has "a lot of strength to gain" on his injured side, "plus a lot of mobility gains to be had." But he stressed that he is excited for the next few months.
"Recovering from a torn achilles tendon has been quite the journey! Half a year into rehab and I’m happily jumping around again. The experience does make me more careful however. I want to stay very active but reduce the recklessness 😅 Currently working hard with Boneezy (Megan Young) to be in our best shape possible," Mikael stated.
The actor's wife, Megan Young, and his fans were quick to react to his post.
"So proud of you for all the hard work you’ve been doing to recover!! PT 3x a week and doing recovery work on your own every day 💪🏻🥹," Megan said.
"Glad that you're recovering fast, stay safe @mikaeldaez," one fan wrote.

Back in September 2025, Mikael underwent surgery after suffering an injury to his Achilles tendon during a basketball game.
"First major injury, first surgery 🫣 A few weeks ago, I ruptured my Achilles tendon… possibly the scariest basketball related injury I could imagine," he shared at that time. "But at this point in my life, I guess we take whatever curveballs life throws at us."
According to Mayo Clinic, Achilles tendon rupture is "an injury that affects the back of your lower leg. It mainly occurs in people playing recreational sports, but it can happen to anyone. The Achilles tendon is a strong fibrous cord that connects the muscles in the back of your calf to your heel bone. If you overstretch your Achilles tendon, it can tear (rupture) completely or just partially."
Mikael and Megan welcomed their first child, Leon, back in May 2025.
