Actor-entrepreneur Matteo Guidicelli took to social media to address concerns following an accident at his family’s restaurant, Da Gianni Cucina Italiana, in Muntinlupa City.
In a Facebook post on February 8, Matteo shared that a vehicle accidentally crashed into the restaurant’s al fresco area at around 4 p.m. the same day. Given the situation, he was quick to assure the public that everyone was safe.
“We are grateful to share that no guests were injured. All guests had already left by around 1:30 PM, so the area was clear at the time,” Matteo wrote.
He added that the two staff members who were inside the restaurant at the pizza oven area were immediately brought to the hospital for medical checks. “Thankfully, there are no serious injuries, and they are currently being taken care of,” he said.
Along with photos showing the aftermath of the incident, Matteo explained that the damage was limited to the exterior portion of the restaurant. As a precaution, the al fresco area has been temporarily closed for safety and repairs, while the indoor dining area remains open to guests.
Beyond the update, Matteo also took the opportunity to remind everyone about the importance of being aware of their surroundings.
“This serves as a reminder to all of us! No matter where you are, always stay alert. ‘Watch your six!’ Awareness and prevention are essential. You never know what situation you might find yourself in, so be careful, be ready, and always be aware,” he shared.
He ended his message with gratitude and faith, saying, “Above all, we thank the Lord. He truly kept my team safe today. By His grace, we are protected, healthy, and able to move forward. To God be the glory.”
“Thank you for your concern and prayers. Please stay safe, everyone. 🙏,” he concluded.
In a prior post, Matteo shared another photo of the restaurant’s al fresco area, now covered with a white sheet to ensure the public’s safety.
Following his updates, netizens and friends from the entertainment industry expressed relief and appreciation for how swiftly the situation was handled, commending Matteo for being attentive and transparent amid the incident. Some also suggested adding steel bollards to further improve safety in the future.
“Hope everything is ok bro. We were just there around that time,” wrote singer Gian Carlo Magdangal.
“Hope you’re all ok🙏🙏,” veteran journalist Susan Enriquez commented.
“Thank God! Walang nasaktan. 🙏🏾,” a netizen added.
Da Gianni Cucina Italiana first opened in 2018. The restaurant was named after his late grandfather who hailed from northern Italy. In 2016, he also opened another restaurant in Cebu named Trattoria de Gianni, honoring the same family legacy.
