“Yes, may lindol. Nawalan ng kuryente, umuwi na tayo. I want to go home. My sons. Because nasa fault line kami.”
These were the words that the Philippines’ Queen of All Media Kris Aquino uttered while a magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit parts of Luzon. She was at a press conference at the time it happened but she made sure to check on her children who were at home back then.
Let’s take a look back on the iconic yet scary moment that became one of social media’s most used videos each time an earthquake would strike in the country.

It was in 2019 when the magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit Luzon and while everyone around her had panic in their voices, Kris remained calm and continued to entertain them through her wit and emotional intelligence.
“Hoy mag check kayo, tawag sa bahay… Malakas yun and we’re in Greenmeadows! My God my house,” she quipped.
Despite feeling dizzy due to the earthquake, she made sure everyone around her was alright and even dropped a joke about how thankful she was for purchasing all the luxury items she wanted.
“It’s the end of the world na, I’m telling you. Buti nalang binili ko na lahat ng Chanel na gusto ko. At least na experience ko siya… Bwisit, ang laki pa ng tax na binayaran ko, sana pala in-evade ko na lang,” she jokingly shared which made the press in attendance laugh.

After her video became viral, Kris went to explain on her official Facebook account about what happened to the delight of her fans.
“To clarify — 1st instinct talaga — kung ano man ang sakuna, ang magulang gustong kasama ang mga anak niya, PERIOD. Thank You God kung ma-SURVIVE. Kung hindi- basta, sama-sama,” she wrote.
“Yung hinanakit sa taxes na binayaran — hindi kasi nakabili nung super gustong mga necklace and brooch kasi each necklace = 3 to 4 earrings. So kahit na may dalawa na in my mind sobrang perfect, nag Thank U, Next,” she ended.
This is just one of the few iconic lines that Kris has dropped ever so casually which made a huge mark on the the Filipino people. She has been on an indefinite hiatus for years now due to her battle with her several autoimmune diseases, but has teased her fans that a comeback may happen in the near future.
