MANILA -- Actress Kris Aquino turned to social media to express her gratitude to all those who continue to pray for her recovery.
In her latest Instagram post, Aquino reflected on her faith and life following an incident during a minor medical procedure.
According to Aquino, while undergoing a PICC line procedure, she stopped breathing after her lungs stopped functioning.
"I haven’t fully processed what happened, it was supposed to be a minor PICC LINE procedure BUT there was a span of time totaling almost 2 minutes when my lung stopped functioning -- I stopped breathing," Aquino wrote.
She then expressed her gratitude to all her doctors and the medical staff for saving her life.
"I credit my anesthesiologist, my 2 surgeons, and as soon as I awakened the reassuring face of my rheumatologist whose concern & love I felt," Aquino wrote.
She also professed her faith, saying that the Holy Spirit guided her doctors and the rest of the medical team.
"In my post-op recovery room, it was future pediatrician/neurologist/or anesthesiologist Bimb’s kiss that made me realize we owe all of you my life -- utang namin na buhay pa rin ako," she wrote.
She concluded her post by sharing lyrics from The Beatles' "Let It Be," about finding peace and acceptance during challenging times.
Aquino has been receiving treatment for years as she battles several autoimmune diseases. After staying in US for treatment, she returned to the Philippines in 2024.
