Eugene Domingo shared her realizations about love as she is set to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary with her Italian husband, Danilo Bottoni.
"What I know about love for sure is that it never ends in romance, everyday is a work that is voluntary because your faith and your love means I am committed to this until the day I die. That is what love between husband and wife is," she remarked in an interview with Boy Abunda.
Eugene added that her love for Danilo is forever. "I loved him from the day I realized I love him and I have to love him until I die," she said.
On what she admires most about her husband, she shared: "Danilo is a man of strong faith and his patience is immeasurable. You cannot imagine being married to an actress. It's a disaster, everyday is a drama. A small instance that you will give an actress a chance to be a dramatic queen she will use it to some extent, hanngang manalo siya sa argument. My husband is so patient."
In an interview with Karen Davila back in 2023, Eugene shared that she first met Danilo at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy in 2014.
Eugene's film Barber's Tales was an entry in the festival at that time. Danilo, on the other hand, was a film critic.
The actress, who was already forty at the time, admitted that she felt that it was already impossible to find a partner, so she was already set on entering a convent. But meeting Danilo changed everything.
"Finding him is really a miracle and the miracle is from God," Eugene remarked.
In the same interview, Danilo described their love story as a gradual process that began in Italy and evolved into long-distance dating on Skype.
"It was a slow process because we started talking every week on Skype for two to three hours I think and then we met again in Italy just the two of us in a very nice place in the place where my mother lives," Danilo said.
Danilo also proposed to Eugene via Skype. They got married in 2016.
