Actress Yasmien Kurdi and journalist Nelson Canlas collaborated for a new children's book aimed at raising awareness about bullying titled Si Jose at ang Mahiwagang Taguri."
Yasmien recently attended the launch of the Philippine Book Festival 2026, where she represented the book alongside Nelson.
On her Instagram page, the actress shared that she is dedicating the book to her daughter, Ayesha, who previously experienced being bullied in school.
"To my dearest @ayeshazarasoldevilla, I dedicate this book to you! And to every child who has been bullied and was never heard. 🥺 Never stay silent. Speak up and fight for what is right," she wrote.
Yasmien added: "May we always choose kindness and remember that true strength lies in compassion, not intimidation."
She also expressed gratitude to Nelson for their collaboration, as well as the National Book Development Board (NBDB) for inviting her to take part in the Philippine Book Festival 2026 launch.

The Philippine Book Festival will happen from March 12 to 15 at the Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall.
In a separate post, Yasmien and her fellow creators shared a peek into the story of Si Jose at ang Mahiwagang Taguri.
"Araw-araw, pasan ni Jose ang sakit ng pambu-bully at ang pakiramdam na nag-iisa siya, tulad ng maraming kabataan ngayon sa iba't ibang panig ng mundo. Sa isang mahiwagang taguri, natagpuan niya ang panandaliang paghinga at tapang na matagal na niyang hinahanap," the post read.
It added: "Isa itong kuwento tungkol sa mga kabataang patuloy na naglalakad habang bitbit ang sakit na madalas ay walang nakakaintindi.
Tulad ng mahiwagang taguri, nawa’y magbigay ang librong ito ng pag-asa at gaan sa kanilang nadarama."
A poem written by Ayesha is also included in the book.
