Every February 14, while the world celebrates love, Kris Aquino celebrates life.

For the Queen of All Media, Valentine’s Day has been doubly special since it's also her birthday. And as she marks her 55th year this 2026, it feels like the perfect moment to look back at the celebrations that have defined her journey with years filled with joy, tears, faith, family, and resilience.

2015

Celebrating her 44th birthday, Kris became emotional on national television after being surprised by her sons Josh and Bimby.

During an episode of Aquino & Abunda Tonight, a birthday video message from her sons was played. In the clip, her younger son Bimby gave her advice about love, while her eldest, Josh, played “Somewhere Down the Road” on the piano.

Part of Bimby’s message to Kris was: “Take it slowly... Know the guy better than you know yourself... Love yourself more and Love yourself first, then me and kuya, then that other guy last.”

Kris broke down in tears when Bimby assured her that if someone broke her heart again, he “won’t get tired rebuilding it.”

In response, Kris said: “Bimb, you know naman mama kapag nag-love hindi kayang 80 percent, kailangan a hundred percent. Pero tama kayo, kayo parati ang mauuna, and mali 'yung order mo! It's you and Kuya, it's whoever that guy will be, and it's me just number three. You and Kuya will always be number one. That other guy, if he doesn't come along, okay na. I have the two of you.”

She also received a red dress from co-host Boy Abunda and statement shirts from her staff. At the end of the show, Kris thanked her siblings Ballsy Cruz, Pinky Abellada, Viel Dee, and the late President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

“We've proven I think to each other 'yung binilin ng mom na come what may, be there for each other, huwag niyo pababayaan ang isa't-isa. Napatunayan natin 'yon. Pinaka proud ako siguro not only to love each of you more but to respect you more and to wish to be like you even more,” she told her siblings.

After thanking her followers, she added: “It's really been a wonderful life. And I'm looking forward to the years God still has left in store.”

On her 45th birthday, Kris opted for a simple and intimate celebration.

“My Valentines... This was an impromptu birthday lunch that my siblings decided to host for me only yesterday afternoon,” she wrote on Instagram.

She shared a photo of her sons at the gathering together with her brother, the late President Noynoy.

For her 46th birthday, Kris originally planned to celebrate in Hong Kong with her sons, Josh and Bimby. However, she canceled the trip shortly before February 14 due to safety concerns following a fire incident in the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway (MTR). She spent her birthday in the Philippines instead, choosing caution and safety above all.

Kris marked her 47th birthday with a surprise from her “two greatest loves,” her sons.

In a video she shared, the boys entered her hotel room carrying magenta balloons spelling “Mama” while singing Happy Birthday. At the end, Bimby teased that the entire surprise cost $76 (almost ₱4,000 at that time).

2019

Kris celebrated her 48th birthday in what she called their “favorite city,” Tokyo, Japan, together with her sons.

“God already granted me much more than I could ever wish for, He gave me the 2 of you... I now realize each additional birthday God gifts me with, will be my #bestbirthdayever,” she wrote at that time.

A week prior, she had already held an intimate gathering at her house filled with colorful balloons and flowers.

As Kris turned 49, she announced she would be going on a “relatively long” wellness retreat for physical and emotional healing.

Around that time, she shared her discovery of the Japanese art Kintsugi.

"I’m going to be “away” ... (with no  definitive timeline: I’m teaching myself how to embrace calm, enjoy the quiet, act patiently, and live peacefully) I’ll privately try to rebuild important relationships, rediscover my 'IKIGAI', and heal (KINTSUGI) every remaining shattered piece of me... you and i deserve nothing less than a Kris Aquino with only golden scars. You will forever possess the most heartfelt gratitude from an almost 49 year old—because you helped make almost every childhood dream she ever had come true," she stated.

In another post, she shared handwritten messages from her sisters.

“If you have sisters, remind them just how much they mean to you. This BUNSO would like to tell my Ate, Pinky, and Viel- THANK YOU for loving me even when it’s been difficult, and for still believing that there’s a rainbow after all these storms... i love you very much, i am BLESSED to be Cory’s daughter, and BLESSED to be Ballsy, Pinky, and Viel’s baby sister,” she wrote.

For her 50th birthday, Kris chose to give back by selecting 400 Instagram followers and sending each a video greeting.

“i finally realized life isn’t about me- it’s about the unique gift i’ve been given, i know how to connect, start a conversation, and be interested in the lives of others. Yes, I do talk a lot- but the difference is- I also know how to listen,” Kris said.

In return, her followers greeted her as well.

“The feeling that i was able to touch lives & make people feel SPECIAL & HAPPY... i must now agree #sanaall #lovelovelove,” she said.

2022

Kris celebrated her 51st birthday with a small gathering that included actress Angel Locsin and shared a glimpse of how their friendship started.

“We’ve known each other mula nung baby pa si Bimb, first friend nya ko sa network namin nung bagong lipat sya. Never did i expect na magiging friends for life na kami… Name it, napagdaanan na namin together pero ang maganda, hindi for public consumption.. super small gathering lang for the people i am closest to, more than a week after my birthday…”

Before her birthday, she asked for prayers instead of gifts.

“My true birthday wish? Please pray for someone both Noy and I love so dearly. ‘Cause I want to protect the person’s privacy, ang hirap magbigay ng detalye,” she said.

She added: “Please don’t spend more money on me. Nakakahiya, and I feel sensitive to the needs of our fellow Filipinos. Alam ko how much food costs have gone up plus ang mahal ng flowers kasi nga Valentine season.”

“Please, unahin niyong regaluhan ang iba. Please choose who really needs your financial support now.”

2023

For her 52nd birthday, Kris revealed that her recent medical results showed a “scary red flag,” but she remained grateful for the prayers she continued to receive.

“I have a wonderful support system from my [two] sons, Alvin, Rochelle, Ate Rome, old friends [and] new friends here in the [US], but you need to be a very determined man of your word to fly 13 hours each way to spend a few days with me on my birthday. For his effort I am GRATEFUL,” she said.

“I promised myself after reading my latest results that had [one] unexpected [and] admittedly scary red flag (not autoimmune related) after iniyak ko na, TAMA NA (after I cried over it, then it was enough),” she stated. “If ever that borderline number signals early detection, I am still blessed. IN FAITH I SURRENDER ALL to GOD.”

On her 53rd birthday, Kris appeared in an online interview with Boy Abunda and revealed she had been diagnosed with a fifth autoimmune disease that led to cardiomyopathy that year.

“Yes, because of Churg Strauss, I now have cardiomyopathy. This means my heart muscles are having trouble pumping blood due to inflammation, and because of that inflammation, it’s exhausting my heart and causing it to begin to fail and ultimately, please pray with me—sana hindi tuluyang sumuko or mag-cardiac arrest,” she said.

She added: “Just in case this is the last birthday I get to celebrate here on earth, thank you Kuya [and] Bimb for the most precious privilege of being chosen to be your mom,” she continued. “Thank you to my sisters for their love [and] generosity. Thank you to my small but very close circle of cousins [and] friends who have shared my life and their lives with me. Thank you to all of you for making all my childhood dreams come true.”

“I still want to live. I know the odds are against me dahil ang puso hindi pwedeng diktahan, pero sana sa tulong ng dasal niyo mabigyan pa ko ng konting extension,” she said. “You have my love [and] eternal gratitude. Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Her ex-boyfriend, Mark Leviste, joined her in celebrating and shared on Instagram that he gave her 53 pink roses in a heart-shaped box.

2025

For her 54th birthday, Kris celebrated in the Philippines with Josh, Bimby, and close friends.

She shared gifts she received including bouquets, Care Bear stuffed toys, and a Mega Space Molly.

She also posted photos with her sons and birthday visitors including Michael Leyva and RB Chanco.

“i want to thank all my friends for taking time to greet me last night (asalto) and my friends from OC, who flew in. But above all- i thank you for being with me, kuya josh, and bimb during my journey towards recovery.” she wrote.

In another post, she shared: “With #lovelovelove from kuya josh, bimb, and “mama” kris aquino. 🩷💛🧡”

The following week, she was visited by close friends including actresses Miles Ocampo, Kim Chiu, and former Kris TV head writer and co-host Darla Sauler.

2026

Now turning 55, Kris is gearing up for her upcoming video podcast, which she says will be her gift for fans. She recently shared her excitement for her February 14 birthday and her wish for something colorful.

“But for this birthday...hindi po ako pwede sa flowers kasi I can really be allergic,” she said.

“Gustong gusto ko talaga magkaroon ng arko na puro ballons na rainbow colors. Kasi parang feeling ko this year will be my rainbow year. Pagkatapos ng lahat ng pinagdaanan na mga bagyo, pagsubok, lahat ng ulan, lahat ng baha, lahat ng pinagdaanan ko, parang this year, slowly but surely, yung mga nagpapaligaya sa akin magagawa ko na. Plus, other things na gusto kong matutunan.”
