Singer and former Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemate Klarisse De Guzman and her partner Trina Rey marked a meaningful milestone as they celebrated their 5th anniversary together with a trip to Taiwan – an occasion made even more special as it was the first time the couple openly shared their anniversary with the public.
Trina first gave fans a glimpse of their celebration through an Instagram reel posted on January 11, featuring moments from their recent vacation abroad. The video captured the couple enjoying Taiwan’s sights, savoring local food, taking selfies, and sharing playful moments that reflected the comfort and joy they have found in each other over the years.
Alongside the reel, Trina penned a sweet message dedicated to Klarisse, expressing both love and gratitude for how far they have come together.
“My Litol One, Happy 5th Anniversary! Who would have thought we would be this free? I will never forget how my heart loved you at 23. Always remember that you have a home in me, Gotchu always!
-Your Big One👹🤍,” she wrote.

Trina also chose to soundtrack the reel with “Palagi (TJxKZ Version)” by celebrity couple and OPM singers TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan, subtly echoing the couple’s message of choosing each other repeatedly through every season of their relationship.
Soon after, Klarisse shared her own reel from the trip, offering her perspective on the celebration. Her video showed them strolling through foreign streets, sharing meals even during their flight, and some more compilation of memories from their five years together.
Keeping her message simple yet meaningful, Klarisse wrote, “5 years of you and me 🤍.”
Beyond marking half a decade as a couple, the anniversary carried deeper significance as this was the first time Klarisse and Trina were able to celebrate and share the occasion openly, months after Klarisse publicly came out as bisexual. In another TikTok video posted by Trina earlier this week, which featured more moments from their Taiwan trip, Klarisse highlighted this newfound freedom with a lighthearted comment.
“Sa wakas! tapos na ang ‘Bestfriends’ era 😂,” she wrote in the comments.
Klarisse first came out to the public in April during her time inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, in a task led by celebrity houseguest Michelle Dee that encouraged the housemates to confront common misconceptions about themselves. In that emotional moment, she shared her truth with both her fellow housemates and viewers.
“Sa tingin ko ito na yung time para sabihin sa inyong lahat and to tell the world that I’m not straight. I am bi [bisexual],” Klarisse said.
She later revealed that she had been in a long-term relationship with Trina, expressing gratitude for the support she received from her family, particularly her parents, as she navigated her journey toward self-acceptance. “Yung kinekwento ko sa inyo na may 4 years akong partner. Yes I have a partner for four years. Her name is Trina. And hindi ko in-expect na masasabi ko ngayon ito. Wala lang, ang lakas lang ng loob ko para sabihin,” she shared.
By July, the couple opened further about how their relationship began, recalling in an interview with Vice Ganda that their love story started with a simple interaction online.
“May common friend lang kami online tapos 'yun nagka-message-an,” the singer recalled.

Klarisse remembered being out with friends, slightly tipsy, when she decided to reply to Trina’s Story. “Kasi makulit 'yung account niya, eh siyempre medyo tipsy. [In-open] ko 'yung Story niya tapos nag-fire [emoji] ako. Tapos natatawa na lang ako na nag-reply siya.”
For Trina, the moment was surreal. “Sabi ko, is this real?” she said, surprised that a celebrity had messaged her.
From there, their conversations deepened. “Nagkwentuhan na. Naglolokohan. Feeling ko rin naman naramdaman niya... Nagse-sendan na mga memes,” Klarisse shared.
After six months of talking, their relationship naturally became official. Trina explained that there was no formal courtship. “Actually madalas nga po tinatanong 'yan kung sino nanligaw pero parang it is just parang lumabas lang talaga naturally sa aming dalawa,” she said.
Klarisse added that she was the one who eventually asked, “Sabi ko tayo na ha?”
Trina admitted she hesitated at first, recalling her fears of having to stay hidden again. “Siguro nakadalawang tanong siya, different day po 'yun. Kasi takot po ako. Kaya ko po ba na itatago na naman ako? Parang sobrang hirap... Kasi 'yung past ko rin naman hindi rin ako totally na ina-out,” she shared, adding that she wanted a relationship where she could be fully acknowledged and fought for.
Klarisse later reflected on how coming out during Pinoy Big Brother felt like the right moment, especially after years of keeping their relationship private.
“Kaya ngayon nag-iisip kami parang ito na talaga 'yung timing nung nag-PBB ako, total four years. Parang feeling ko rin po sobrang unfair na rin sa kanya lalo na di ba ilang beses niyan sa online or sa mga television, nade-deny ko siya,” she admitted.
When asked what she loved most about Klarisse, Trina spoke of her partner’s kindness. “‘Pag nagkwe-kwentuhan kami, lagi kong sinasabi napakabuti ng puso niya. Kasi may mga times na hindi niya nakikita kung ano ang nagagawa niya sa ibang tao.”
For Klarisse, the heart of their relationship lies in Trina’s steadfast presence during her most difficult moments.
“Yung fact na hindi niya ako iniwan nung mga panahon na feeling ko kaiwan-iwan ako nun,” she shared, recalling times when she felt overwhelmed by personal struggles and family health concerns. “So 'yung mga pagkakataon na 'yun siya pa yung naging support system ko talaga.”
“Kumbaga hindi niya ako iniwan sa mga panahon na 'yun at talagang minahal niya ako kahit sa mga panahong hindi niya ako kamahal-mahal,” she previously expressed.
