MANILA -- Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador says she has "no hard feelings" over the casting decision made for the adaptation of the bestselling Wattpad novel "I Love You Since 1892."
It was announced in July that the novel written by Binibining Mia will be brought to life by Heaven Peralejo, Jerome Ponce and Joseph Marco.

Peralejo will play the characters of Carmela and her ancestor Carmelita -- who have long been linked to Salvador especially after she appeared on the cover of the book in 2019.
Marlo Mortel also appeared on the book cover as Juanito, the love interest of Carmela. In the adaptation, Juanito will be played by Ponce, while Marco takes on the role of Leandro Flores.
"Honestly medyo nalungkot din naman ako noong nakita ko na may iba na," said Salvador on Tuesday, when asked about the adaptation. "Siyempre it's a very well-written book, so hopefully ma-ano siya ng maayos, ma-represent siya ng maayos. Alam ko naman na magagaling naman na mga artista 'yung kinuha nila. Ayun, 'yun lang naman."
"Nagulat na lang din ako. Pero no hard feelings naman. I'm sure they know what they're doing," she also said.
The singer-actress also expressed her gratitude at having been chosen to be on the cover of the book.
"Malaking bagay na 'yun sa akin, and hopefully 'yung mga gaganap ngayon ay ibigay nila sa role nila 'yung 100%. I'm sure they will," said Salvador.
In the same interview, Salvador also reiterated her support for her fellow Filipinos who took to the streets last Sunday and demanded accountability from public officials over alleged corruption in the government.
"Kumakapal na rin talaga 'yung mukha ng iba na kumukuha sa pera ng taong bayan. So it's really time that we speak up and let our voices be heard at magkaisa tayo talaga," said Salvador, who said she was unable to join the protests due to her busy schedule. "Kasi, tama na. Nakakapagod na rin."
Asked if she had any regrets regarding the past elections, Salvador said: "Tama naman lahat ng binoto ko."
Salvador is set to appear on "Open Endings," an entry to the 2025 Cinemalaya film festival, and the TV series "What Lies Beneath."
