MANILA — Actress Janella Salvador spoke out on Monday about the ongoing corruption issues in the country, showing her support for Filipinos who have been taking to the streets to demand accountability from public officials.
In a statement, Janella said that she couldn’t remain silent about the current state of affairs.
“Hindi ko masikmura na nasa presson ako ngayong araw na ‘to at hindi ako magsi-speak up about the current happenings sa country natin,” she expressed.
Although she couldn’t make it to the recent rally due to her busy work schedule, the actress reassured everyone of her support.
“I would like people to know na kasama niyo ako sa laban. And it’s really really time na we all join forces and let our voices be heard. At tama na ‘yung panggagago talaga sa mga… sa ‘tin, sa ‘ting mga Pilipino,” she emphasized.
Janella also criticized the ongoing “band-aid solutions” being proposed by those in power, insisting that the Filipino people deserve real and lasting reforms.
She also admitted to feeling a heavy heart about the situation in the country.
