Demi Lovato expressed her excitement over the engagement of her The Princess Protection Program co-star Selena Gomez.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Demi shared that she recently heard clips of Selena's interview on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, where Selena praised her fellow Disney alums for their individual journeys and successes.
"I heard clips of what she said on the podcast, and it was really, really sweet," Demi remarked. "And I couldn't be happier for her—she's engaged, and yeah I just wish her the best."
Demi also complimented Selena's latest album I Said I Love You First, a collaboration with fiancé Benny Blanco.
"I have listened to the album, really, really great job. I love the songs on it, 'Bluest Flame' was my song," she said.
Demi and Selena first worked together in 2001 on Barney and Friends and later headlined The Princess Protection Program in 2009.
Selena revealed her engagement to Benny in December 2024.
The "Who Says" hitmaker made the announcement on her Instagram page on December 12 (PH time), posting a snapshot of her engagement ring on social media.
"Forever begins now," the singer-actress wrote.
The couple worked together in the past on Selena's tracks "Single Soon" and "I Can't Get Enough."
It was in December 2023 when Selena confirmed via social media that she was dating Benny. At that time, the actress revealed that she was dating the music producer for six months already.
In a previous interview with TIME, Selena revealed that she initially planned to adopt and become a single mom before meeting and falling in love with Benny.
"I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it," she admitted. "Then I came up with my plan, which was that I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone."
The actress relayed that she met Benny at a time when she least expected.
On what she admires most about her boyfriend, Selena remarked: "He has such strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon."
Meanwhile, Demi got married to singer-songwriter Jordan "Jutes" Lutes in May this year.
The pair first crossed paths in the studio in January 2022 while collaborating on Demi's album. After almost two years together, Jordan proposed to the singer in December 2023.
