MANILA — Kris Aquino, the Philippines’ “Queen of All Media,” successfully underwent surgery Wednesday morning, posting a heartfelt update on social media with her two sons, Joshua and Bimby, by her side.
In an Instagram post, Aquino shared a photo of herself in recovery with her sons, accompanied by a caption reflecting on the experience: "Headed down. Marami na kaming pinagdaanan. In 5 days, we would have been back a year. I wish you could hear how quiet the hallways are. Thank you for praying, isa pang TEST OF TAPANG."
Netizens and fans readily commented and sent their prayers. One wrote, "You are stronger than what you think because your faith is bigger than your fear. Always remember that you have a battalion of people who pray for you and I am one of them! Keep fighting!"
"Nandito lang po kami para sayo hindi ka namin iiwanan palagi ka namin ipagdarasal. We love you so much po," wrote another supporter.
Another fan added, "Hindi mag sasawang maging prayer warrior mo Madam. Sending prayers po. Laban ng laban po may awa ang Diyos."
On Tuesday, Aquino asked for prayers ahead of surgery: “Please pray for my surgeons and cardio-interventionists, all the residents and fellows, all the nurses and all the staff in the OR, and the Cardio OR. I thank the Holy Spirit and the birthday Girl Mama Mary for keeping my Survival Instinct Sharp,”
The prayers were not just for herself but also for the sake of her two sons.
From their compound in Tarlac, Aquino also revealed that she is residing in a private residences in Makati.
