Marjorie Barretto fulfilled her dream of graduating from college at the age of 51.
The actress took to social media to reflect on her journey leading to her graduation
"At 51 years old, I finally wore this cap and gown. 🎓 For years, finishing college was a dream tucked away — paused for show business, raising children, public service, business, and building a life. But God never forgot. In His perfect time, He gave me the courage to return, the strength to push through, and the joy of crossing this finish line," she remarked in an Instagram post.
On the highlight of her graduation, Marjorie shared that it was having her family witnessed this milestone in her life. "The sweetest part? My children were there to witness it — taking my photos and videos, handing me flowers and gifts. A moment so surreal, a full circle moment," she said.
The actress expressed her gratitude to her university and to her friend, Ruffa Gutierrez, for helping her achieve this dream.
"I want to thank Philippine Women’s University @mypwu_official for opening your doors and making this chapter possible. I also want to thank my dear friend @iloveruffag for starting this journey for so many of us — she graduated first, lovingly encouraged me to go back to college, and always reminded me that I could do it," she stated.
She also thanked her loved ones saying, "To my loved ones who inspired me, pushed me, and talked me out of my panic and anxieties — thank you from the bottom of my heart."
She concluded her post with this reminder, stating: "And to those my age who still carry dreams in their hearts: it’s never too late, and you are never too old, to realize the dreams God placed in you."
Coincidentally, Marjorie's son, Leon Barretto, also graduated in the same year as the actress.
Leon took to social media to reflect on sharing this milestone with his mom. "Not a lot of people can say they graduated college the same year as their mom. it’s really never too late—congratulations, mom! truly an inspiration to my siblings and me ♥️🎓 #2025graduates," he said in an Instagram post.
