It’s been more than a decade since former ABS-CBN original fantaserye Super Inggo star Makisig Morales and his family immigrated to Australia where he eventually ended up marrying Fil-Australian beauty queen Nicole Joson in 2019.
Makisig first entered showbiz as a contestant on the kiddie singing competition Little Big Star in 2005 along with his batchmates Rhap Salazar ended up winning in the Little Division and Makisig becoming first runner-up.
After the show ended, Makisig was offered the title role in the International Emmy-nominated series Super Inggo where he gained fans with his role as a 10-year-old kid named Budong who dreamt of becoming a real life and full-fledged superhero along with his former co-star Kathryn Bernardo.
Now at 28, Makisig talks about about being happy and content with his life abroad and still continuing to perform for the Pinoy community all around Australia. “It's been a roller coaster [ride] yet I’m super happy kasi slowly but surely it's coming together. Ang importante po sa akin, kasama ko ang asawa ko, masaya na ako,” he shared with PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview this month.
After almost six years of marriage, Makisig shared how marriage has changed his life and why he has no regrets getting married at the age of 22. “It's God po, pag siya talaga ng nasa gitna ng relationship, mas magkakaroon kayo ng patience and understanding sa isa't isa. Over the years, natutunan kong mas kumalma at mag-share, kasi dati pag food ko, food ko lang. Pero Cole broke that. Now, I share food with her, kasi mas nakakagana kumain pag sabay kumakain,” he explained.

Growing up in a family with nine siblings, Makisig said he and his wife are not in a rush to have children. The former Super Inggo star revealed that he and Cole did suffer a miscarriage. “Planning as well but it’s not really our priority for now. Para sa amin, it's not a race and everyone has their timelines and God's perfect timing. Cole had a miscarriage before, pero it doesn't mean we will stop trying. Meron pang bigger plans si Lord sa amin before having a baby. We will prepare the pathway muna para when the baby comes, madali na,” he said.

Currently living in Sydney, Makisig admitted having his parents and siblings living in the same country was a big support system for him and his wife. “For me, it's important kasi at least one call away sila especially pag may emergencies. Pero kahit naman medyo malayo, wala pa rin problema, we still make time to see each other every once in a while,” he added.
Known for his humble nature as an underrated actor and performer, Makisig also shared the biggest learnings he has gained from his parents Uldarico and Jacqueline, who have supported him closely throughout his entire career. “I think yung being humble sa kapwa and make sure na walang naaapakang tao sa mga ginagawa. Ganun din sa pagkain, even though mahirap gawin dito sa Australia dahil hindi pare-pareho ang tapos ng time ng trabaho pero as much as possible, sabay sabay kakain. Pati po ang pag dadasal,” he shared.
