After turning 47 years old last May, actress and entrepreneur Judy Ann Santos said she did not look at aging as something to be feared or saddened by. The talented Kapamilya actress was also recently revealed as the new beauty ambassador of Bioten Hyaluronic Gold and shared her thoughts on looking forward to her golden years.

“Well, you have to be excited at each stage and event in your life because that’s how you grow, that’s how you earn wisdom, and growing old is inevitable,” she shared during the Bioten event held last July 15 in Makati City.

“It’s not as if you can tell God, ‘God, can I stay being 25?’ No. I’m excited to turn 50 or even 60, 70, 75, for the simple reason na I’m excited to see how my outlook in life is going to be. How my kids are going to be. And at the same time, alam ko ‘yung pakiramdam na ngayon at 47, I don’t feel like it. And thank you sa mga nagsasabing I don’t look like it. But it is something na probably may notion lang siguro tayo nung mga bata tayo na pag nag-50 na, nag-60 na, iba na yung itsura, matandang matanda na. Hindi naman,” she added.

Judy Ann, who won Best Actress at last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival for the horror film entry Espantaho, explained how she actually gained more self-confidence as she aged, “Actually, mas may confidence ka habang tumatanda ka. Mas wala ka nang pakialam sa sinasabi ng mga tao. And you actually don’t really care what’s happening around you because ang pakialam mo na lang is yourself, your happiness, and your family,” she explained.

“With aging kasi, I know at the time na mag-50 ako which will happen three years from now, I’ll be more matured. I’d know how to navigate life better and I’m excited to see my kids grow up. Siguro, if you have children, apart from the thing that you love most about your life, is seeing your children grow up and be the best versions of themselves. Ako, I’m actually excited to see the best version of myself.”

Judy Ann started working in showbiz at the age of 10 where she starred in the series Ula, Ang Batang Gubat playing the titular role of a child hunter who lived in the forest. Froom there, she grew up to be one of the country’s most in demand actresses. Because of this, Juday admits she was not able to finish her schooling but has no regrets with her decision to earn money for her family over getting a degree.

“I really don’t care kung anong sabihin ng mga tao because I know who I am. Alam ko kung ano ‘yung ginagawa ko, kung ano ‘yung sinasabi ko, and I don’t have to pretend na isa akong matalinong tao or isa akong kolehiyala. In-embrace ko talaga ‘yung imperfections ko in so many ways. I embraced myself in a way na hindi man ako nakapagtapos or hindi ako nakapag-college, it’s okay because it was my decision to work. Hindi man ako nagpagawa ng ganito or something, or wala akong malaking bahay, it’s okay because that’s my happiness. That’s who I am,” she explained.

Another secret to Judy Ann’s ageless beauty? The Bioten ambassador revealed that self-acceptance is the key. “Hindi ako nakipagpaligsahan kasi anong point? Siguro for me, to adapt to change, exciting din naman talagang malaman what is out there for us. So explore life, never compare yourself to anyone. Each of us is created differently and unique. That is just how God works and we have to embrace and accept that. All of us have imperfections and that’s totally fine. That’s what makes you perfect, that imperfection,” she maintained.
