Charo Santos took a heartfelt trip down memory lane as she walked through the halls of the iconic ABS-CBN Main Building, which the Kapamilya network is set to bid farewell to in the near future.
"A walk through memory lane, in the place where purpose and passion found a home — with a heart full of gratitude for every step, every story, every soul," she posted on her Instagram page.
In the video she shared, the actress and the network executive visited various parts of the building, including the props area, live show studios, hallways, dressing rooms, offices, and radio booths.
"I joined ABS-CBN in June of 1987. This is the main building, this is where you will find all the studios," she shared.
Charo also reflected on the building’s significance, saying: "Dito nabuo 'yung mga pangarap ng nakapakaraming talents and production people, writers, directors."
Back in February, ABS-CBN said that it had signed a deal with Ayala Land Inc (ALI) for the sale of a portion of its property in Quezon City. Under the Memorandum of Agreement, payment for the sale will be on an installment basis. Proceeds will be used for partial payment of loans.
The operations of ABS-CBN, including offices and studios, will be consolidated in the remaining portion to be retained by the company.
Charo is currently hosting Maalaala Mo Kaya, which made a comeback on free television and digital streaming platforms on April 24 after it bid goodbye in December 2022.
"After two years 'Maalaala Mo Kaya' is back and it will share the beautiful stories of our letter senders, of our Kapamilyas," she said back in April.
She went on: "In my heart, I knew that one day babalik siya. Because the loyal viewers and the new generation of viewers are looking forward to watching the true to life stories of our Kapamilyas. Ang daming Gen Z na lumaki na nanonood ng MMK kasama ang kanilang mommies and daddies, lolas and lolos. I'm so happy that they know MMK is a brand of good storytelling."
