Filipino-Canadian online personality Mikey Bustos recently celebrated his 44th birthday by listing down ten life hacks. He shared these nuggets of wisdom with his followers along with a special surprise.
On his social media page, Mikey marked another year of life as he shared what he has learned and realized in life so far.
“Woohhoo! I'm 44 today and these are my TOP 10 LIFE HACKS I gathered through the years,” he wrote in a celebratory post, reflecting on personal growth.
He began by challenging the notion of having only one peak in life, saying, “1)There is no such thing as ’your prime‘. You can peak as many times as you work for it. There is no timing nor limit to your winning streak.”
He also emphasized the importance of connecting with nature: “2)Care for a pet animal. Live close to trees. Get lots of sun. Walk barefoot on the ground. Nature is your best friend.”
He went on to share tips on how to live a richer, fuller life. “3) Success is the best revenge. 4) Karma's a bitch! Be on her good side. Nothing gets by unpaid or unrewarded. Don't steal, not even illegally licensed apps. 5) Never forget your "why".”
He also stressed the importance of self-love. “6) Anyone who says that you love yourself too much, secretly hates themselves. Keep growing more and more in love with yourself every day, and don't let anyone sidetrack you from being your biggest fan.”
Mikey also touched on the value of living each day to the fullest, sharing how one must enjoy life and be kind not just to others but to one’s self. “7) Treat every day like it is the greatest field trip and funnest day of school. 8) Address all your demons BEFORE you get rich or your life will be hell. 9) Laugh at yourself, but always be kind to yourself. Accept your flaws, work on your weaknesses, and quadruple down on your strengths!”
He ended with a reminder to prioritize in a healthy lifestyle to enjoy life further. “10) Invest in your health. Exercise, eat whole foods, and quit the unhealthy vices, but also make sure to rest and have cheat days.”
To mark the occasion, Mikey also released his latest single titled “Parachute,” a song he says celebrates different forms of love — romantic, familial, platonic, and even love for pets and fans.
“For my birthday, streaming and sharing my music and music videos would be the coolest bday gift you can give. It's my newest baby and a new part of me I love sharing with the world. My 2nd single 'Parachute' is out today!” he shared.
Fans and friends expressed their admiration and greeted Mikey in the comment section.
Fellow content creator and longtime friend Marco Ho, better known as Bogart the Explorer, also paid tribute to Bustos on social media.
“Happy Birthday to one of the OGs who walked so the rest of us could run — Mikey Bustos. We went viral around the same time, chasing the same dream of making people laugh, think, and feel something real,” he said as he shared their first video collaboration “Halo-Halo.”
“Here’s to the brotherhood that started with pixels and punchlines. To more years of creation, evolution, and connection. Mikey, salamat. You’ve always been a little ahead, and we’re all better for it,” he added.
Earlier this year, Bustos introduced a new music project that took two years to complete. The release included a heartfelt video recounting his coming-out journey, his rise to fame after Canadian Idol, and how the internet helped shape his career.
“My life's been crazy. A reality show forged me into the spotlight, and this new thing at the time called the internet set me off on a path with the promise of my dreams, far away in a foreign paradise,” he wrote.

He also spoke about his relationship with longtime partner RJ Garcia, saying they took a leap of faith to live their truth as a couple.
“So one day at the risk of losing everything, I and the one who became my parachute in life took the biggest leap of faith together and jumped so we could live our truth. And now that I'm on the other side of what has been the greatest adventure I've ever known,” the YouTube star said.
He then released his single "Cancel Me” alongside a music video which he described as “your rage song of the summer.”
