Idol Philippines alumnus Gello Marquez is clearly thriving not just in music, but also in acting.
During his recent live music jam, which he headlined in Quezon City, PUSH ABS-CBN had the chance to exclusively catch up with Gello about his exciting new project titled Ghosting.
“Ang gagampanan ko pong karakter dito ay si Tony. Si Tony ay multo na namatay nung 70s. Pero kasi lasing siya nung namatay kaya hanggang sa naging multo siya, lasing pa rin siya. Alam niyo, ‘di ba kapag multo ka, kung ano suot mo, ‘yun na ‘yun. So, well, may similarity siya sa mga roles na ginampanan ko before. Pero ito kasi, ‘70s siya sa namatay. So, iba ‘yung humor niya, iba ‘yung atake niya. So, medyo challenge siya for me. And I'm excited dahil kakaiba siya. Something unique sa mga previous ko na ginawa,” Gello teased.
In Ghosting, Gello will be joined by Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 breakout love team JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, also known as JMFyang.
This isn’t Gello’s first time working alongside a popular love team. He previously appeared with DonBelle, composed of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, in He’s Into Her and Can’t Buy Me Love. In both shows, Gello showcased his talent for comedic timing, adding charm and humor to every scene he was in.
“When it comes to timing naman, parang nasa akin na naman kasi siya kung paano ko siya i-deliver, siyempre. When it comes to lines, siyempre bibigyan kami ng mga lines. Pero may mga lines din talaga na pinapalitan ko ng sarili kong touch. Parang mas personal and natural ‘yung dating niya pag binibitawan ko,” he revealed.
He added that he’s not exactly new to acting anymore and sometimes doesn’t realize how far he’s come, growing with every project he does.
“Alam mo, nakakatawa kasi ‘di ko na talaga masabi po sa sarili ko na bago lang po ako. Kasi medyo tumatagal na pala ako. Ang dami ko na nang natututunan. Isa sa mga bagay na natutunan ko is discipline and consistency is really something (needed) para makuha mo ‘yung goal mo,” he shared.
The iWantTFC original series Ghosting will be directed by Theodore Boborol. Its exact release date has yet to be announced.
