Former actress Rica Peralejo is very vocal about sharing her opinion on social media and is not new to receiving online hate.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, May 24, Rica shared her realizations about dealing with online hate, saying that people's hate passes through time.
The former actress posted a video she titled “How do you get over your haters?” which perfectly illustrates her personal perspective. The video started with Rica flaunting her outfit then it suddenly panned out, giving a broader view of the universe.
“I think after the very first taste of negative viral backlash I experienced, I realized that people hate on you, but they can’t really stay hating on you for long because they got other things to do,” she wrote.
“Kailangan pa nila maghanapbuhay, maglaba, mag-alaga ng anak — so madami pa silang gagawin, bakit naman ako ang uunahin nila sa buhay nila?,” she added.
The former actress further emphasized: “I am not the center of their world. I am only a very small part of this world. Too many things going on to fixate on what I did right or wrong.”
Actress and host Donita Rose reacted positively on the post: “But you have so many more who love and admire you to bits.”
In April, Rica boldly responded to a question raised by a netizen about why she can still afford to travel despite her husband’s job as a pastor.

Rica said that she earned and saved enough money from her several years of working in the entertainment industry. She detailed important figures though she clarified that it was not meant to brag but to hopefully clear out the doubts.
“Juicy question. Di ko alam kung di mo lang ako kilala or you don’t understand what I do. But, first of all, celebrity ako since I was 12 years old–– I’m now 44,” she answered.
“If you don’t know that entire history, you can just search up my name and you will see like probably who I was back in the '90s. Because of that, I’ve built a name, I currently have a million following on Instagram. Hundreds of thousands here [on TikTok], I have about like 400,000 on YouTube, 2 million on Facebook,” she added.
In 2024, Rica also called out a netizen who questioned her faith for simply supporting an LGQBTQIA+ page.

“No one is forcing you to believe what should or should be not, but canceling? It’s not one of the Lord’s traits. Only humans do this, unfortunately. No wonder people don’t like our faith. They don’t want our Jesus cause akala nila Jesus is like us,” she said in one of their exchanges.
In the same year, she also commented on a controversial issue about a segment of the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremonies which received backlash from Christians for alleged “scenes of derision and mockery of Christianity."

The former actress, who is also known for her Christian faith, said she didn’t see any problem with it, adding that “mockery can’t diminish her God.”
Rica also gave a reminder to her fellow Christians: “Time na for the Christians to think talaga of how people can believe in us when we keep representing the faith as reactionary.”
