As one of the busiest actors in showbiz today, Star Magic artist Jameson Blake admitted he is happy that his new film Flower Girl is finally coming out next month after they finished shooting the project last year. In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the Fil-British actor shared how he feels about being on the big screen again in June.
“These past few months, I was thinking, ‘Kailan ba lalabas yung movie na ‘to?’ I was just really curious kung paano yung output ng movie na ‘to and how it’s going to turn out. Kasi it’s not a typical movie you’d watch. So I’m just happy that it’s going to be coming out on my birthday pa, on June 17 (laughs) or around that time. I’m turning 28. Di halata di ba? (laughs),” he said.
When he’s not busy with working on films and teleseryes, Jameson revealed something his fans might not realize about his real-life personality. “They might be surprised how boring I can be sometimes in terms of what I do. It’s not really so fun. I’m not super adventurous kind of guy pero I would say, I’m a good person to talk to. I’m a good listener. So if you want to vent out, I can be there for you, if you want. I don’t think na magugulat sila sa akin. You’ll be able to read me. But a lot of people, for example, before they meet me, akala nila na suplado ako or something like that. Pero hindi naman talaga ako ganun. When you get to know me, I’m very approachable and may sense din ako kausap,” he shared.
In Flower Girl, the story revolves around a modern day Filipina named Ena (played by Sue Ramirez) who one day wakes up missing her lady part. Jameson explained why the story is more than just about her comical situation.
“I think it’s about time na we’re more open to talk about and explore topics like this. I think it doesn’t bring us anywhere if limited tayo sa just playing safe all the time. It’s fun to explore and introduce new concepts, introduce not a typical story that people could watch, just to make things more interesting. I think we can also find opportunities to entertain, but not only to entertain but then find sense, like let’s say for this project it’s womanhood. And it’s also going to make you question things by the end of the movie when you watch it. It’s not all about someone genitals that are missing. It’s not only about that. There’s also a deeper story into it,” he added.

Jameson also shared what the main message of the movie is for those curious to watch it. “For the audience that will be watching this film, I want them to have fun and to laugh about it. It’s actually a funny film. But there’s something deeper into it. There’s actually a story behind it regarding womanhood. And it also asks the question, can someone still be worthy of love even if their missing something about them like their body parts or genitals?” he said.
