Gabbi Garcia recently opened up about the kind of role she hopes to take on in the future, one that she has yet to portray.
In an episode of Bida/Bida by Netflix Philippines, Gabbi revealed, "Ako dream role ko, hindi pa ako nakakapag-GL... Girls' Love. I haven’t done that."
She also emphasized the importance of constantly evolving as an actress, especially when working across different genres and roles.
"As an actor, it’s constantly reinventing yourself in all the roles that you're going to portray, kasi siyempre hindi pwedeng pare-parehas," she said. “Actually that’s challenging, for example you get so much projects na ito 'yung genre, so you have to constantly reinvent yourself."
In the same interview, Gabbi also discussed her preparation for her latest series How to Cheat Death, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
"We really sat down with the creators of the show so we can really collaborate. There's really a part of you in that character so we had to find that part of me in the character I was portraying," she explained.
The actress went on: "I was really grateful that the writers, the director were really open to sitting down with us so we can really write down the best character description for us and we can work on it together. Kasi iba talaga kapag collaborative 'yung team."
Gabbi stars in the series alongside her boyfriend, Khalil Ramos, an experience she described as both rare and meaningful.
"We seldom work together. We often work together siguro for content. Not as actors. So this is like rare times na we get to actually act together. And it's different kasi siyempre we know each other so well on a deep level tapos when it comes to the set, it always has to be new," she shared.
Reflecting on their on-set chemistry, she added: "Kasi siyempre you're both actors you're playing different roles so kailangan fresh palagi 'yung chemistry, 'yung samahan so it was kind of challenging but at the same time comforting as well 'cause you have your person there on set with you."
