MANILA -- Just like in the entertainment industry, winning elections is also unpredictable.
This is what happened to several local celebrities who ran this midterm polls for local government positions.
Actress Angelu de Leon is among the winners as she secured her second term as councilor in Pasig City's Second District.
Daniel Fernando was formally proclaimed the winner of the Bulacan gubernatorial race, while re-electionist Alex Castro has also been proclaimed Bulacan vice governor, after garnering over a million votes.
Actor Arjo Atayde also won his second term as congressman representing the 1st congressional district of Quezon City.
Aiko Melendez also secured her second term as councilor in Quezon City's District 5 with actor Alfred Vargas who placed third.
"Star For All Season" Vilma Santos returned as Batangas governor, while her son Ryan Christian Recto was also proclaimed as congressman in Lipa City's 6th District .
As of writing, actor Isko Moreno is just waiting to be officially proclaimed as the mayor of Manila.
Celebrity couple Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres are also leading elections in Ormoc. Torres topped the mayoralty race in Ormoc City, while her husband topped the elections for representative in Leyte's 4th District.
Unlucky stars
However, a number of local celebrities weren't lucky enough to win in #Halalan2025.
Host-actor Luis Manzano was not lucky enough to win in tge vice gubernatorial race in Batangas.
Actress Angelika Dela Cruz was also defeated in the Malabon vice mayoral race.
Actor Ejay Falcon failed to win as representative of the 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro.
Actress Ara Mina only placed 10th in Pasig's Second District councilor race garnering over 49,200 votes, while beauty queen Shamcey Supsup placed 7th in Pasig's First District with only 39,452.
In the senate race, hopes are fading for actors Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Philip Salvador, boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, TV host Willie Revillame and singer Jimmy Bondoc to crack the so-called Magic 12.
