What would the result be if '90s iconic love team Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin tried out their names in the compatibility test FLAMES?

During their recent interview on the TFC show BRGY, Jolina revealed that despite starring in the 1997 film FLAMES: The Movie, they had never tried the compatibility test using their real names.

“Nag-Flames tayo, pero hindi yung pangalan talaga natin,” Jolina said to her co-star.

In FLAMES, a person writes both their full name and the name of the person they want to test compatibility with, then crosses out the letters they share. The crossed-out letters are counted to determine a number, which corresponds to one of the FLAMES categories, each representing a different aspect of their “relationship.”

Jolina counted, revealing what their result was.

“Ipa-plus mo to ngayon. So, ang 18. So, magiging 18 siya. Tapos, bibilang ka ngayon. S, Sweethearts," she explained,

As Marvin gushed, the actor candidly joked that he’s glad it’s not the letter E for "enemy," noting that Jolina is “frightening” to be an enemy.

“Natakot ang akala enemy. Nakakatakot enemy si Jolina. Alam niyo ba yun?” he asked.

He added, jokingly, that Jolina "manipulated" the results to get a favorable outcome.

“Minanipulate mo pa nga yan. Kasi totoo ko naman pangalan, Marvin J. Cayugan. Alam niyang Agustin mapupunta sa Sweethearts,” Marvin teased.

In another game, special guest host MJ Felipe asked the Ex Ex Lovers stars to show the word "EX" if they didn’t agree with the given situation and "LOVE" if they did.

They were asked if they agreed with falling in love with their onscreen partner.

Jolina shared that it would depend on the person, especially if they are single or not: “Depende kasi sa sitwasyon I mean, kung single ako, why not? Hindi imposible na mangyari yung mga ganun.”

On the other hand, Marvin said that he would agree, as it would be nice to add happiness in the demanding showbiz industry, assuming both parties involved are not committed.

“Lalo na pag available naman kayo. Lalo na yung love team dito sa Pilipinas, ang babata. So, I think yung pagtatrabaho nga, kind of somehow, parang napapatanda na sila ng mabilis. Kasi itong industriya natin, parang masaya lang siya, parang glamorous lang siya. Pero, takes a lot of hard work. Di ba? It takes a lot of professionalism,” Marvin explained.

He went on, “So, kung makakapagdala kayo ng konting saya sa isa't isa, as andon naman talaga yung kilig. Saan kayo lagi magkasama? Oo. So, kung pwede naman kayo, go!”

Meanwhile, they were also asked if they were open to being friends with an ex-partner, to which they both responded "LOVE," meaning they are both okay with the idea.

“Depende sa akin kasi kung anong pinagkahihwalay niyo. So, parang pwede LOVE, pwedeng EX,” Jolina explained, emphasizing that it would depend on how things ended between the two.

For Marvin, it's meaningful, noting how during the relationship, both you and your ex-partner were good people and loved one another.

“For the duration of your relationship, (nagsasabihan kayo ng) ‘I love you, I love you. Good morning, good morning. Take care, take care.’ Tapos pag naghiwalay, yung parang magiging stranger na kayo sa isa’t isa. Sa akin, sana dumating yung point na maging love, love. Kasi huwag itapon yung one year, two years, three years na nagmahalan kayo. There's a reason why nagmahalan kayo. Kasi mabuti kayong tao pa rin,” the actor shared.

In their upcoming movie, Jolina plays Joy, who travels to Malta, to reunite with her ex-partner Ced, portrayed by Marvin. She asks Ced to walk their daughter down the aisle, fulfilling her daughter’s wish. However, Joy has a hidden agenda—to sabotage the wedding, which forces her to confront unresolved feelings from their past.

Ex Ex Lovers will premiere in Philippine theaters starting February 12. It also stars Loisa Andalio and Juan Karlos Labajo and is directed by JP Habac.
