Theater fans, save the date: Boublil and Schönberg’s Les Misérables The World Tour Spectacular is coming to Manila next year and will run from January 20 to March 1. It will be led by West End and Broadway artists, including Philippine’s own Lea Salonga, Rachelle Ann Go, Red Concepcion, and Emily Bautista.

“We’re incredibly honored to bring Les Misérables The World Tour Spectacular to Manila, and we’re equally delighted to see Filipino talent represented both on stage and among the musicians,” said GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal. “This production is a celebration of world-class artistry, and we’re thrilled for Filipino audiences to experience it.”

Lea will be playing the role of Madame Thénardier. It is a new role for her, although Lea has previously played the roles of Éponine and Fantine in Les Misérables on Broadway. She also played Éponine in the 10th Anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall, and Fantine in the 25th Anniversary concert at the O2.

For this production, Rachelle Ann will be playing the role of Fantine. Rachelle Ann is no stranger to the material, having played Fantine on West End and reprising it for the Les Misérables Arena Tour for its 40th anniversary.

Two other Filipino talents are playing key roles. Emily Bautista reprises the role of Éponine, which she previously played in Les Misérables’ North American Tour. Red Concepcion will be playing the role of Thérnardier, which he already played in Les Misérables at The Muny, St. Louis Municipal Opera Theatre.

They will be joined by Gerónimo Rauch as Jean Valjean, Jeremy Secomb as Javert, Will Callan as Marius, Lulu-Mae Pears as Cosette, Harry Chandler as Enjolras and Earl Carpenter as the Bishop of Digne, among others.

More Filipino talents are expected to the cast since auditions were held in Manila for the role of Little Cosette earlier this year.

Aside from the world-class acting chops to be shown on stage, one more thing to look forward to is the powerful music of Claude-Michel Schönberg will be played by a live orchestra. Filipino pride shines through the talents of musicians such as John Gerald Calma, Dino Decena, Mary Anne Espina, Fransisco Llorin, Mhaze Lim, Jonathan Livioco, Dondon Lucena, Luke Manuel, Kier Manimtim, Marloe Maruyama, Gabriel Mendoza, Paul Ramos, Coi Reyes, Steve Retallick, Raymond Sarreal, Jordan San Jose, and Miko Villena.

Catch Les Misérables The World Tour Spectacular at The Theatre at Solaire, running from January 20 to March 1, 2026. The Manila staging is by GMG Productions, Nick Grace Management, and Cameron Mackintosh. Tickets are already available via Ticketworld.
