She explained that she wanted to take up Mass Communication at first but decided to follow her heart instead which led her to Psychology.
“I’m taking Psychology pero biglaan yun ah kasi yung first choice ko talaga is Mass Communication para connected sa career ko,” she shared.
In previous interviews, she was vocal about studying Mass Communication believing that she has an advantage as she’s been working in the entertainment industry for several years already.
“Pero kasi almost 10 years or almost a decade na ako sa industry, so parang super aware ko na sa lahat. Why not take something interested talaga ako, which is Psychology,” she explained.
Awra then reasoned out that she’s fascinated with how people react to certain things which is why Psychology piqued her interest.
“Gusto ko talagang malaman kung bakit yung isang tao nagre-react on a certain way–– kung paano sila magreact, paano sila makitungo sa tao. Para lumawak yung emotional intelligence ko,” she added.

In the same interview, she expressed how grateful she is towards Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda for helping her achieve her dreams and believing in her despite the controversies she faced in the past.
Awra recalled how Vice became a motherly figure to her and has continued to support her in pursuing her college diploma.
“Doon talaga ako pinaka naging committed kasi kailangan kong gawin at habulin itong isang bagay na to kasi noon inaano-ano ko lang yung pag-aaral. Parang okay lang to kasi ako yung nagpapaaral sa sarili ko. Pero this time, si Meme yung nagpapaaral sa akin–– she’s paying for my tuition. The least that I can do is to show up and ipakita sa kanya na worth it yung pagbayad ng tuition ko,” she expressed.
She then admitted that she’s hoping to graduate with flying colors to show everyone–– including Vice–– that their trust in her was all worth it.
