Kapamilya star Coco Martin shared some lessons he learned now that he’s in his 40s. In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez earlier this week, the FPJ’s Batang Quiapo actor shared two things that he only started learning now.
Coco just turned 44 years old earlier this month.

“Ako mas nagiging kahit papaano, kumalma. Mas natuto akong mag palagpas ng mga bagay-bagay. Kasi dati papakialaman mo lahat eh. Talagang ‘hindi, ganito yan’ ngayon, parang ‘sige, okay na.’ Honestly, katulad minsan may isesend sa akin na script, hindi ako gaano ka-happy, pero sasabihin ko nalang ah okay ang ganda. Bakit? Kasi hindi naman lahat mapeperfect mo,” he shared.
He explained how he can’t force it to be a perfect 10 all the time but still has a specific standard set for him and his craft.
“Maari sa tingin mo ito yung maganda pero hindi mo naman masasabi sa panlasa rin ng lahat ng Pilipino. Basta hindi masama, kumbaga sa 1 to 10, seven yan, okay na yan. Kasi ang hirap na ipilipit mo lahat every time,” he explained.
“Hindi lahat titirahin mo, hindi lahat aanuhin mo. Basta natututo kang kumalma,” he added.
Apart from being calmer this time around, the Kapamilya actor shared how he learned how to say no to prioritize what’s important for him.

“Pangalawa, ngayon natututo na ako mag no. Kasi dati lahat para walang masabi sa’yo, ipleplease mo eh. Lahat talaga sige sige okay po kahit na nagsusuffer ka na. Ngayon sabi ko nga hindi, kumbaga nirereserve ko na to para sa sarili ko,” he revealed.
Coco maintained that this is what would earn respect from his peers in the industry as well as he learns the value of saying no to things.
“Ngayon, natuto na ako mag no. Pag alam ko na kailangan ko na itira sa sarili ko. Natututo ako mag tira sa sarili ko nung 40s na ako,” he continued.
When asked if there’s anything else that he’d like to have now that he’s nearing his mid-40s, Coco didn’t hesitate to answer “peace and happiness.”
“Ang pinaka importante ngayon sa gulo na nangyayari sa buong mundo, ang pinakaimportante yung safe ka at peace ng family mo. That’s it,” he ended.
