Fatima Bosch of Mexico was named the 74th Miss Universe while Miss Universe Philippines bet Ahtisa Manalo finished as 3rd runner-up.

Filipino celebrities and content creators took to social media to voice admiration for Ahtisa’s performance and their surprise over Miss Universe 2025 final results.

Actress and Binibining Pilipinas World 1993 Ruffa Gutierrez expressed her shock at this year’s results, emphasizing her disbelief through multiple tweets.

She pointed out that some of the strongest contestants had been ranked lower than expected, saying that they deserved better.

Still, she acknowledged Ahtisa’s hard work and the team behind her, celebrating her achievement despite not taking home the crown.

“Congratulations to Ahtisa Manalo, the Miss Universe Philippines organization, and the entire team. Your dedication, grace, and hard work were evident. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌAhtisa, you remain a queen in our hearts πŸ₯° continue to shine and conquer the universe!!! πŸ‘‘βœ¨ #MissUniverse2025,” the actress tweeted.

News anchor and TV host Jervi “Kaladkaren” Wrightson highlighted Ahtisa’s question & answer response, pointing out its authenticity despite the slight nerves. She also emphasized how Ahtisa’s answer came from genuine personal experience rather than scripted lines.

She added a reflective note comparing the performances of Miss Universe 2025 fourth runner-up Olivia Yacé of Côte d’Ivoire and PH bet Ahtisa: “For me lang ha… Ms. Cote D’Ivoire gave the most impactful and coherent answer! Ms. Philippines gave the most authentic, coming from the heart answer… one that truly came from lived experience. But yeah…. Ok.”

Global drag superstar Marina Summers shared both praise and disbelief in her tweets. Early on the pageant, she described the intense competition as a battle between Miss Côte d’Ivoire and Miss Philippines.

But as the final results were announced, she later expressed frustration over what she saw as unjust results. Her disbelief escalated as she reacted to the final placements.

“MEXICO AND THAILAND WERE THE WEAKEST IN THE TWO QNA ROUNDS. How did they end up in the top two?!???? #MissUniverse,” she emphasized.

She criticized the judging decisions and speculated about ranking errors: “TEKA BAKA NAMAN BALIKTAD YUNG ORDER NG RANKING?!?????? #MissUniverse.”

To add humor despite the results, she referenced Catriona Gray, who won the Miss Universe 2018 title, with the song played on her lava walk: “Alexa play Miss Independent featuring Catriona Magnayon Gray #MissUniverse.”

She concluded with heartbreak over this year’s results, saying that Miss Philippines Ahtisa and Miss Côte d’Ivoire Olivia are the “Most Robbed Queen” this year.

Adding to the mix of reactions, Jonathan Manalo shared his disappointment on Facebook, expressing a broader sense of frustration with institutions and standards.

“Kahit saan, corrupted, pati ba naman Ms. Universe. 😞 we’ve come a long way… sayang the noble, pure legacies built by those before us, across industries and institutions, (yes kasama ang political parties and democratic governments) wasted and tarnished by corruption and greed. Ayusin natin, please,” reflecting a sentiment of disillusionment beyond the pageant itself, resonating with followers who were questioning the process and fairness.

Kapamilya actress and social media personality Awra Briguela shared an Instagram reel showing herself together with friends watching the pageant. They were visibly shocked when Ahtisa’s name was announced as 3rd runner-up. In the video, Awra commented, “Super luto.”

“SOBRANG OVERCOOKED ANG GINAWA NYO SA MGA JUSA! HANGGANG SA MISS UNIVERSE NINANAKAWAN NYO ANG PILIPINAS JUSKO! HINDI TAMA ITO,” conveying disbelief and frustration over what she viewed as an unfair outcome.

On Facebook, social media personality Nurse Even commented on the possibility of an announcement error, joking about the upside-down reading of the winner’s card, saying: “Baka ganito lang nila nabasa. πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜πŸ₯Ή.”
