Kapamilya actress Kiara Takahashi is now officially engaged to her partner, professional rugby player Benny Gunter.
In her recent social media post, Kiara shared heartwarming photos from Ben’s proposal, which took place in Gunma, Japan.
“Said yes on the same ground we’ll build our forever 💍 I love you, fiancé @benny_gunter ❤️𐚁༝༚༝༚,” Kiara wrote in a post.
The proposal venue was set on the piece of land the couple recently purchased, which they revealed will be the site of their future dream home.
Celebrities and close friends quickly filled the comment section with congratulatory messages.
Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and beauty queen Diana Mackey commented, “omg congratulations you guys @_kiaratakahashi and @benny_gunter 😍😍.”
Kiara’s Tabing Ilog The Musical castmate and BGYO member Akira Morishita also shared, “Congrats ate kiara and ben!!!”
One of Ben’s relatives added, “Congratulations Ben and Kiara, so lovely to see. Can’t wait till you both come back to stay with us again. Baby will be born then, so lots of aunty time with loads of love and kisses. ❤️.”
Last August, Kiara revealed her pregnancy through a touching video. She has since been sharing her journey to motherhood online. She later posted clips from their gender reveal party, where they announced they are expecting a baby boy.
“I’m so happy. I would be happy if it was a girl as well but a boy first is the best, the best feeling. I can’t wait to make you my buddy. I can’t wait to do a lot of things with you that I couldn't do,” Ben said trying to not break into tears.

Kiara added, “I’m so excited to meet you and siyempre sana lumaki ka nang mabait at excited kami na makita and we love you already so much.”

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Kiara shared that she is currently taking a break from showbiz to focus on this new chapter in her life.
“Everything is just on pause and that pause is such a beautiful pause because it’s an amazing experience as a woman. I’m just very excited for the new chapter and when I come back, it will still be me but a grown me. I feel like I can take all of that experience as a mom to my work and share that to other people,” she expressed.

Kiara and Ben also revealed plans to give birth in Japan, where they are in the process of building their home.
“We bought some land here out of all places–– where we both grew up and the first time we met. So at the moment, we’re looking at building our dream home here. It's not to say that we’re gonna be here forever. Especially when we have our son or daughter on the way, we want them to have a place to call home for their childhood,” Ben said.
The couple found out about Kiara’s pregnancy in April, which they described as an “anniversary gift,” since they celebrated their first anniversary in February.
Kiara first rose to fame as the Batch 2 Winner and 2nd Big Placer of Pinoy Big Brother Otso. She later made her stage debut in Tabing Ilog The Musical, portraying Eds and later George in the show’s 2024 rerun. In the same year, she joined the cast of One More Chance The Musical, playing the role of Tricia.
