Singer Geneva Cruz could not be any happier after sharing the news that her son Heaven Arespacochaga had just gotten engaged in the US this month. Heaven is Geneva’s son with former husband Paco Arespacochaga, the drummer of '90s Filipino pop rock band Introvoys who has been residing in Los Angeles, California along with his son.
The former couple were married for five years and had their marriage annulled in 2001. Earlier this year, Geneva revealed she is currently in a relationship with Philippine jujitsu team member Dean Roxas.
Last October 8, Geneva shared photos of her son’s engagement with his girlfriend Adi who is also based in the US. She wrote, “Son, I always knew you would find your other half, someone who truly understands and loves you through all of life’s ups and downs. But I wasn’t prepared for the flood of emotions I felt when you sent me the video of your engagement. Thank you, anak, for trusting me with your deepest feelings and plans — from the moment you told me about meeting a wonderful girl while I was in Balesin Island a few years ago, to when you designed this beautiful ring.
"I believe I have done my best as your mother, as our bond has remained strong despite all the challenges we’ve faced, and I am truly grateful for that. I am proud of your kind, loving, and hardworking nature, and as I always say, 'Great things happen to those whose intentions are pure, no matter how long it takes.'”

The sexy singer also addressed her future daughter-in-law in the same post, adding, “Adi, thank you for loving my son wholeheartedly. It has been one of my few wishes because I know how deeply he loves, and he deserves someone who loves him as much. I welcomed you into the family long ago, so that’s nothing new. However, I look forward to meeting your family and seeing you and my son Heaven, soon. I love you both, and Congratulations again on the engagement. π π«π«π«”
Geneva first got reunited with her son last year when Heaven flew to Asia after years of being apart during the pandemic. Geneva documented his arrival at the airport in one post, she wrote, “I finally got to embrace my firstborn child, Heaven, after four long years. To all the parents whose children also have already grown up and left the nest, I am in awe of your strength. It is not easy to let go and watch them soar on their own, but it is the best thing we can do for them. We must allow them to live their lives on their terms while being there to offer guidance and support when needed. π”
During his trip to the Philippines, Heaven also brought along his girlfriend Adi to visit his grandmother’s grave during Holy Week, which Geneva appreciated.
In her post, she wrote, “I was deeply moved when my son Heaven introduced his girl to my mom at the Manila Memorial Park. It may sound strange to some, but It is not unusual for a few of us to talk to our loved ones who have already gone to the other side. The last time Heav saw Mama was at the Los Angeles airport in January 2020, when we decided to move back here after residing in the U.S. for six years. The pandemic happened a month later, and we lost Mama to COVID-19 a year later. π₯²
"Heav, a Lola’s boy, being the first grandchild in the family, was unable to see her again… watching him pay his last respects to Mama (and give his love to his cousin Beaux) before we took him to the airport for his flight back to LA made me tear up - it was such a heartfelt moment. It’s moments like these that remind us of the beauty of life despite challenges, the importance of family, and genuine LOVE. ππΌπ Do you ever visit the graves of your relatives just to talk to them? Even though you know they are no longer physically there, it can feel comforting to do so. Ultimately, it's important to do what brings you peace and love. ππΌ?”
Geneva and her family also enjoyed some bonding time in Hong Kong where they celebrated Heaven’s 28th birthday in places like Hong Kong Disneyland last year. In her post, Geneva wrote, “I visited the Tian Tan Buddha for the second time to show the amazing architecture to my son and his girlfriend. During our visit, my daughter @londonleecruz enjoyed her ice cream once again, while we climbed the 268 stone steps to savor the breathtaking views. I even took some time to meditate and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It was a wonderful experience! πππ”
Their family also made the most of Heaven’s trip by going to the island of Boracay
Unlike his parents, Heaven has not shown any inclination to follow their path in showbiz. In a previous interview on PUSH Bets, Geneva shared, “Alam niyo, very close si Heaven sa akin. Ano yan, tatawag yan minsan sabihin ako niyan, ‘Mom, I miss the Philippines! I miss, I miss mama’s cooking,' yung ganun. Miss niya yung Filipino foods kaya I ordered, yung ganon dun sa America, or he’ll say, ‘I miss you and my sister,’ mga ganyan. He’s in sales now pero he raps on the side pero ayaw niya talagang maging celebrity. So I’m just you know, bahala siya dahil nasa edad na rin sya. Kung ano man yung gustong gawin nya sa buhay nya basta nakakatulong sya sa iba, go.”
Geneva also has an 11-year-old daughter named London from a previous relationship.
