Actress Sofia Andres took to social media to recount her frightening experience during the recent magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu while she was filming for the upcoming Kapamilya series The Alibi.

On Instagram, Sofia admitted she felt terrified and panicked, especially with the thought of being far from her family in Manila.

“Life really reminds us how fragile everything can be. Yesterday in Cebu, when the [6.9] magnitude earthquake struck, I was terrified, the panic, the rush of fear, and the thought that I was away from Manila, away from my family. 💔 That feeling of distance in moments like this is something I’ll never forget,” she wrote.

Despite the fear, the actress stressed her commitment to work, saying she chose to push forward in working.

“Still, here I am now in Dumaguete, showing up because life doesn’t stop. Hustling, working hard, pushing myself for the dreams I’ve committed to. It’s not easy being far but I know this journey is shaping me in ways I can’t yet see,” she remarked.

She ended her post with a prayerful message, adding:  “Sometimes I wish I could just pause, but life keeps moving. All I can do is pray for strength, for safety, for peace in the middle of uncertainty. 🙏 And I remind myself of these sacrifices, these risks, this constant hustle, it's all for something bigger than me.”

In her Instagram Stories, Sofia confirmed she was in Cebu when the quake hit but has since safely gone to her place in Dumaguete.

“Been filming in Cebu when the earthquake struck yesterday. terrified, and the panic of being away from family hit me so hard (broken heart emoji). But today I'm in Dumaguete, supporting each other, working nonstop, building dreams together (praying emoji).  Life must go on, and I just keep praying for the best,” she said.
