Actress and singer Kakai Bautista reflected on her decades-long career as a performer and how there’s a “sad reality” in the industry. On her Instagram account, the comedian aired her concerns on other artists who are allegedly paid more despite their voices not being in tune.

Kakai has been working in the entertainment industry for the past two decades–– be it in film, television, or even theater. Apart from acting, she is also known for her singing prowess, having released several songs on various streaming platforms.

The singer-actress shared how she takes the performance arts seriously as she makes sure to stay professional as possible whenever she’s invited to an event.

“Errands and dance rehearsal day. Sinisigurado ko talagang may practice at review day or choreo ang bawat upcoming performance ko sa events. I always plan ahead with songs, outfits and minsan curating every medley na ipapagawa,” she wrote.

Kakai shared with her followers an Instagram Reel of a day in her life as she rehearses and practices for her upcoming shows. She explained how she warms up her body to get it conditioned for the moves they have to follow.

She then reflected about the sad reality that she sees in the industry today.

“REAL TALK: napapaisip nalang ako minsan dito sa industriyang ito, Mas malaki ang bayad sa mga sintunado walang professionalism sa trabaho. VERY SAD REALITY,” she claimed.

Despite this, she maintained that she always gives it her all as it was what she learned while she was starting her career as an artist. She gave credit to her mentors who guided her and is happy that she still gets to perform up until today.

“Sige nalang kase i was trained to DO my 200% all the time and keep showing UP. Death nga lang ang excuse. Ayan ang disiplinang nakuha ko sa mga theater mentors ko. THANK GOD,” she noted.

Kakai has dedicated her time to honing her craft as an artist and recently, she shared that she is choosing to be single at the moment. In a previous interview with Tuesday Vargas and Buboy Villar, the comedian revealed how she is enjoying the freedom that comes along with being single.

“Choice ko talaga kasi para sa akin, ngayon ko lang nai-enjoy 'yung time ko for myself. Ngayon ko nai-enjoy ang pera ko, ngayon ko nai-enjoy 'yung buhay ko na medyo kalmado na lahat, nakakaluwag na,” she previously shared.
