BLACKPINK Lisa has been into collecting POP MART toys and said it was a friend who first introduced to her the brand.
"I just got into POP MART early this year and I learned about this from one of my close friends in Thailand," she relayed in a video uploaded by Vanity Fair.
She recalled that she was not a fan of it first when she visited a POP MART store in her home country.
"When I went in Thailand, she was like, 'Oh let's go to POP MART.' And I was like, 'What is POP MART?' She was like, 'It sells toys and stuff, we should go and check.' And then I went with them and to be honest I was like not into it at all. No, I'm not going to spend my money on this and then they came out they were like, 'Oh my god, the one I want, it sold out. It was hard to get,'" she recounted.
Her friends then showed her more POP MART toys and she eventually got fascinated by them.
"Then they showed me a bunch of stuff and as soon as I got them, I went crazy. I spent all my money. I go to POP MART everywhere if I fly to New York, I go to Miami, I try to find POP MART there, Paris. Kinda like finding treasure," she shared.
In the Vanity Fair video, Lisa did a blind unboxing of some POP MART collectibles and showcased her expertise on the toys.
Some of the toys she unboxed were a Zimomo and a Labubu. "When this guy has a tail, they are called Zimomo. If she doesn't have a tale, we call her Labubu," she explained.
The singer also unboxed a CRYBABY x Powerpuff Girl figure and a PUCKY Roly-Poly Kitty figures.
As per its website, POP MART is a "rising global force in pop culture and entertainment." Its purpose is "to celebrate daily moments and inspire through designer toys and fun experiences."
