MANILA -- The romantic comedy flick "Take Me To Banaue" starring beauty queen and model Maureen Wroblewitz will finally be shown in Manila.
According to a post by Star Magic, "Take Me To Banaue" opens in Philippine cinemas on February 12 in time for Valentine's Day.
"Finally, after having several theatrical special screenings in USA last year, the Filipino-American romantic comedy “TAKE ME TO BANAUE” will now be available via a worldwide screening starting Feb 12, 2024!" it said.
In the movie, Wroblewitz plays Grace, while American actor, Brandon Melo, plays Hank who battles emotional disorders.
The movie was entirely shot in the Philippines, specifically in the Cordillera region, and was helmed by Filipino-American director Danny Aguilar.
In a video, Wroblewitz share her excitement to finally share to her Filipino fans her first-ever lead project.
"The long wait is finally over. 'Take Me To Banaue' is going to be available for screening starting February 12. I am so excited to for you to all meet Grace of course but also Hank, Jinky, Jordan and all the amazing characters of this beautiful story," she said.
"It is a love story but it is so much more than that. It's about family, it's about the sacrifices that you make for the people that you love and it is about embracing your culture and who you are as a person. I hope you all enjoy."
Aside from Melo and Wroblewitz, the Houston-based Aguilar also tapped Filipino artists Mary Jean Lastimosa, Thea Tolentino and Norman "Boobay" Balbuena to be part of the film.
