MANILA — Alas Pilipinas pool member Angel Canino is hoping for the best as preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 20th Asian Games are underway with the release of the pool.

Amid a tumultuous situation in the local volleyball scene, with the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) suspended by world volleyball governing body FIVB due to governance issues, Canino was hopeful that the stars would align amid the process of preparing for the Asiad.

She was also grateful to have been included once more in the Alas pool, as the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) handles the national team amid the PNVF suspension.

"Of course, I'm very grateful. And sobrang blessed ako na paglabas ng lineup, I was part of it," said the UAAP Women's Volleyball Player of the Year during the Collegiate Press Corps Annual Awards Night on Monday in Pasig City.

"But of course, we're still in the process of it. So, hopefully, lahat ng mga mangyari when it comes to the Asian Games, hopefully, mag-inline. Bawat isa," she added.
